Harper says he'll protect traditional marriage

Alternative measures of labor underutilization
This table shows the true unemployment rate of 9.4% it includes all subcatagories not considered valid under the 5.6% that is shown in the media. That 5.6% is a sugar coated reality.
Table U-6 shows total unemployed, plus all marginally attached workers, plus total employed part time for economic reasons, as a percent of the civilian labor force plus all marginally attached workers. That is the true total unemployed.

I can't believe how much press this issue is getting. I personally don't give a rats ass if a couple of guys or a couple of woman want to marry each other, shouldn't they have the right to go through the unhappiness and divorce as straight people?
Sorry to break this to you Godz, but gay people have always been here and are always going to be here so don't think that you are going to convert some by saying they can't get married. I think you're way too young to harbor such hatred for so many people as you do. I say let them marry and maybe this non-issue will just go away. Can't you see that the divorce lawyers in Canada could use the extra business?

He's a Christian, they're suppose to hate anyone who is different than they are. Afterall, gays are "freaks of nature". I wouldn't be surprised if he were a creationists as well since he has shown his total lack of knowledge on biology in this regard.
BTW, godz, I don't hate you. I just feel sorry for you that you are so intolerant for no good reason other than you fear what you don't understand.
Enjoy your stay in the US while it lasts. You are going to find out that it isn't what you expected at all.
It was fun watching Harper try to convince most of Canada that he wouldn't invoke the notwithstanding clause to remove rights, while trying to convince his pals on the radical religious right that he would do exactly that.
It was funny to see Martin accusing Harper of "political cowardice" too. Martin isn't wrong on that, but then there's the whole thing about pots and kettles...
QBC @ Thu Dec 16, 2004 7:03 pm
I love how people are demanding that Martin have a national referendum on this bullshit issue. Thank God he said no, I would have gone off the deap end if we spent millions of dollars of tax money for this.
A referendum doesn't change the charter either. The funny thing is that it's already a done deal in 6 provinces and one territory, so even if Martin's bill fails (I doubt it will) the legal precedents have already been set. The only way to go back now is to use the notwithstanding clause.
This is a really masterful bit of politicking by the Liberals. They show that the Conservatives would use the notwithstanding clause to take away human rights and show them to be the radical fundamentalists they are, and it's really a nothing piece of legislation...even if it fails the courts will change the law when a legal challenge is introduced.
It's like they handed Harper a rope and pointed him towards a tree.

"No arsenal or no weapon in the arsenals of the world is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women."
Ronald Reagan. 1911-2004
He also said, "Mommy, change my diaper." He was a senile old fool who quadrupled the American national debt in only 8 shorts years from $1 trillion (Took 80 years for the US to get it up that high with 2 world wars, a great depression, and the Cold War to boot.) to $4 trillion.
LOL. I wonder how much more abuse this idiot's going to take before he changes his sig?

[size=12]Really? The explain to me why Muslims keep immigrating to "Chrisitian" countries if they think they will be hated and killed?
Because these aren't "Christian countries" at all. Their governments are secular and not based on any religion as would calling them Christian nations actually means. We also have freedom of belief, and that includes all religions and not just the Christian belief as so many Christians here seem to believe.

You know I don't get this, to leftists, Christians today are responsible for the crusades, the inquisition which happned hundreads of years ago, and have reformed themselves ... But Muslims are not responsible for all the terrorist attacks that are happening today.
Christianity has a long and bloody history to answer for. I didn't say that Mulsims were not responsible for what is happening now, but in comparison it is nothing to that from Christianity's history. The Christians won and got to write the official version of history.

Hmmmm....I'm intolerant becuase I believe taht homosexuality isn't normal...yet you are a modern-day humanist with quotes like these:
Yes, you are intolerant. I never said that you shouldn't exist or that you were a freak of nature as you are calling gay persons.
$1:
He's a Christian, they're suppose to hate anyone who is different than they are
That is your history. More evil has been done in the name of Christianity by Christians than anything else. How many people have been harmed in the name of homosexuality?

Thank you. I went to University in the US and lived an additional 3 years down there, so I think I have pretty accurate expectations.
It has gone downhill quite a bit in the last 4 years.
You say that the current government in Canada is corrupt, but you may not know this, but the true sign of a corrupt government is one which runs up massive debt with no plans to lower it and which while doing this benefits those at the top who financed them. The only recent example of this in Canada was during Mu
RUINey's time in office when he ran up massive debt in Canada and was dismantaling our infrastructure. Another example of a corrupt government now is in the US under Bush.
Corrupt governments don't benefit the majority of the citizens in the nation which it is in charge of.

BTW: my wife got offered a job in the US, with higher pay, lower taxes and less working hours. And will begin to work at St-Vincent's hospital in Jacksonville, Florida on December 28th.
Does this mean you're moving to Florida???
NNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!! stay away from me !!!! LOL
