It's telling that the Harper cabinet's main enemy is the media and it's untold thousands of spoon fed Fiberal zombies. Average Canadians obviously approve and picking the best people for the job, regardless of party affiliation is obviously paying off. Looks like you Liberals will have to work harder if you want you're demonic masters to return.

I also love how you use Chretien as an example for you're hypocrisy. Is this old school newspeak or just Liberal media spin?

Having a war with the media isn't very smart....

He should be trying to use them, not aggravate them.......not that I'm complaining :P

How can anyone be happy about this? Nowhe is turning out drones to speak for him? You can say this, you cant say this...I AM THE LAW! This is bullshit. They should have the right to speak to the press when they want to and say what they feel, not whats on thier cue cards.

Way way Way to much control for me. All I see is the strong possibility of that office hiding agendas only to be found out after something has been changed.

I dont like how they are doing business so far. A little to secretive for my liking. We (well a small majority) did elect these people into office for fuck sakes. Its SUPPOSED to be public! Isnt it?

The more info released, the more our Liberal media will put a spin on it.

Sounds more like common sense until the Conservatives have been in power long enough to squash the spinmiesters.

This is all coming from supporters of the party that enshrined party discipline.
Looks like you whiners won't have free voice clips from wing nuts anymore. Guess you'll just have to make up stuff.. oh I forgot, you're not allowed to make stuff up. :-)

SireJoe @ Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:02 pm

What does party discipline have to do with talking freely about issues? Who gives a shit about what the media spins and how? If they are doing something wrong, the chances are it will get spun in that direction, if they are doing something right, the same concept would apply.

This is just the PMO controlling what can and cannot be said by its staff. They should not have any say on what these people can say, aside from internal politics and sensitive information. It should be completely public knowledge of what will go on in government. And I can assure you that "5 key points" isnt going to cover the new governments agenda.

BluesBud @ Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:09 pm

I will keep it short but I could go on and on about our invisable PM.

He said it would be a clear open government. Now it will all be behind closed doors. Can you say "hidden agenda" boys and girls? He is twisting everything his way and doing exactly what he railed against in oposition. Where are the whisle blowers now? Silenced by the PM?

BluesBud @ Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:14 pm

PluggyRug the current government has been spinning since it was sworren in. The whole issue is to make up & minipulate the truth. (their own version that is)

ridenrain @ Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:19 pm

Canadians would have had Sponsorship Scandal Whistleblower Allan Cutler as a CPC MP if they voted right. You remember him? He was fired by Dingwald for mentioning the Sponsorship Scandal. Remember that?
..probably not.

maple_leaf1 @ Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:43 pm

Why don't you just wait and judge by what is done by the government and not what the media tells you....? Eh?

fifeboy @ Fri Mar 17, 2006 12:47 pm

I am not sure how to react to Harper. I agree with those who say that he is a well of hypocrisy, but that was to be expected. I am not too worried about his hypocrisy, my big concern is his hidden agenda! I suggest that all Canadians go out to their local drug store,(although I am sure the RoboKing would prefer we went to WalMart) buy a tube of KY jelly and collectivly bend over. Although, I suspect that RoboKing will play us along until he gets a majority government before he lets us into any of his more "penetrating" ideas.
