Cons leader a little moron and now treats the Canadian citizenry as though they were children. He's insulted the easteners and now the whole of Canada and especially their heros. Fuck you very much Con-man!

$1:
The repatriation of our fallen soldiers back to Canada is a private and solemn event between the families and the Canadian Forces.

People know they died... photos of airplanes and coffins isn't going to prove anything.

Looks like Harper has ripped another page from the Bush handbook.

Tricks @ Mon Apr 24, 2006 8:46 pm

By keeping those fucking leeches we call media away from sacred ceremonies? Hardly.

You are a tool, what family wants these leeches snapping photos and asking for interviews when they are grieving.

Oh yeah you, cause it would further your plight for a country full of socialists.

I totally agree with keeping the media away from Trenton. They care little for the fallen, you can almost see them salivating on TV when a Canadian soldier is killed or injured.

When they have been present in the past they fuck up the ranks, Regiments, Sections, actually anything they can.
They know nothing of the history of the Regiments or why any particular part of a ceremony is conducted.

I can’t see any outcry from the Military or the families that these self appointed guardians of Canadian moral dignity are not going to give us their mundane and patently wrong commentaries any longer.

Harper is a leader and he is doing the right thing by our fallen. Thank god the Liberals have gone and thank god the media are getting what they deserve at last.

God Bless Canada and God Bless our Army.

Considering their coverage of the last funerals I can see why they are given the boot. Bunch of armatures doing commentary. It should have been complete silence on the commentators part, this will do.

Wow!

We agree!

I can understand keeping the media away, but I still think the flag should at least be put at half mast when a soldier dies, out of respect to him or her.

I should also mention that my military knowledge is quite limited, so I don't know if there is a reason to keep them up or down... it's just my personal view.

Off all things.... the flag should be half mast accross Canada.

The rev only wants them there to further his political agenda(communism).

Now he can start a "Harper muzzle's media" thread.

Rev_Blair @ Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:37 am

You guys don't like facts, or what? Bush did this when the bodies started coming home from Iraq, and Harper is doing it when they start coming home from Afghanistan. You can dress it up however you like, but it's an attempt to lessen the impact on the general public.

How does barring the media from a funeral an attempt to lessen the impact? Looks like your the one attempting to make something of this,it's a funeral for chris-sakes,why do you want to see it on tv? Show some respect.

hwacker @ Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:41 am

What would be the purpose of having the media there Rev?

Please I would like to know, full pics of the solders on a slab, closeup's of the body parts ?

There is only one reason why you are bringing this up and we all know it.

Bush and Harper are both right.

Bodah @ Tue Apr 25, 2006 5:59 am

I betcha anything, its probably the military that asked to ban the media from the base.

Im sure the surviving family members appreciate not have a mic stuffed in their face asking questions like "how do you feel?" or "Do you think we should be in Afghanistan"

I disagree, flags are being lowered in respective places across the coutry, the soldiers home towns, post offices, National Defence HQ etc.

The flag at the peace tower should only be lowered on 3 occasions IMO
1. The death of a Monarch figure
2. The death of a Prime Minister
3. November 11 th

Thats it !!!
