What was she saying or rather what was the speech about?

She was very drunk and was singing french songs. She said the PM chose her because she was 'hot', not because she was black, immigrant or a woman.
She also said that, indeed, she has a crown.

She laughed at Andre Boisclair's past about cocaine and she responded by joking to her detractors by saying "finally, here's what my husband and me truly believe, vive le Qu.. Canada Libre". And everyone laughed.

It was very funny but... embarassing  :o

Thank you. Sounds like she had quite a night to say the least. Funny how I haven't heard it mentioned much around here.. :)

It took some days to come out in the news here too. (It happened oct 22).
When the medias heard of it, they expressly jump on the occasion to bash canada and the gg, as usual

It was the kind of night where everyone laughes about each other.
Jack Layton was playing guitar and singing about how he succeeded to "hijack" the Liberals.

That's in one of those nights that GWB made a sketch where he was searching for WMD under the tables and the couches "Where did I let them?".
:o

But the fact is that Quebec is in Canada. When she says she prefer Quebec, the habs of the Canada should remember that Quebec is a part of the contry. If she prefer this place to an other place, where's the bad thing? I prefer Sherbrooke to Montréal. It's my choice. If she prefer Quebec to Ontario, it's the same thing.

I think it's because people are afraid because she was a separatist. And they are so afraid, that they shit in their pants.
It would be one thing if she or her husband said "Quebec is my favourite part of Canada" (the GG is supposed to be scrupulously impartial and shouldn't say such things but I could live with something like that) and quite another for her husband, speaking on her behalf, to say that they are Quebecers first and Canadians second.

It's not about whether she prefers Quebec to Ontario it's about where her loyalties lie. That's the crucial distinction to be made here.

If it's merely a case of Jean being a Quebecer first and a Canadian second, it is inappropriate for her to be GG. If she was ever a separatist it becomes much worse - an abomination.

Be in the shoes of the prime: does he haves the choice? He gives some gift to Quebeckers. And honestly, I think it's the good thing to do. The population here is angry, and you know that I suppose. Theyr're angry againts both PLQ and PLC. Martin isn't crazy: He is like you and me, he want to keep the contry united.
I understand your point here but this kind of stuff doesn't play very well outside Quebec. How long is this nonsense supposed to continue? Sooner or later Canada will have no choice but to stand up to the separatists and say that the blackmailing is over. Personally, I'm sick of it and as a Quebecer I find it embarrassing.

I think you and the english canadians see a montain when they are only a rock. 'Need to chill! 8)

If she begins to do separatist "discours" (sorry, 'don't know the english word for "discour"), the Queen have the right to fird her. Chill [B-o]

Qubeckers are fighters 8) What we can do, it's in our blood!
lol!

I'm not a separatist, but I'm always amazed by the power of caracter they are made of. Since nearly 200 years that SOMES english canadians try to assimilate them, but they resist. It's like Astérix and the Gaulois against Ceaser, but in a cultural way.

By the way, I'm not a paratist, only a pro-Quebec ^^

But to respond: One day, the Canada will stand back, I that day, it will probably be the begin of the end of a united Canada. Sadly. The Quebeckers are fucked up, and with the "rapport Gomery", it will be worst.
