As for offending or alienating Liberals,

Some of those Liberals are small L liberals, and would come over to our party if we presented them with the option. Instead, we seem to call them liars, thieves, and Fiberals. While many of the top authorities were, it does not extend down to the voters. We need to present the Conservative Party to these voters as an open party that is a liable option to the Liberals, not as angry old white men.

I personally was impressed by Stephen Harper's speech this evening. Hopefully he can continue it for the rest of the campaign. [BB]

Let me start my response by saying "8 MINUTES TO THE NO CONFIDENCE VOTE!!!!"

Now that being said (or should I say screamed), have you ever heard the story of the immigrants that refuse to sing our National Anthem because it is not their home and native land???? Have you heard the part about them wanting the wording to be changed so it can be more "user friendly" for everyone????

I will bitch about this topic because I had a grandfather in the war that lost half of his stomach to mustard gas, I had two uncles serve in the war and one is still emotionally scarred today because of what he went through....so you see...I had loved ones fight to defend this "Oh Canada!" LONG LIVE THE MEMORY OF THE HIGHLANDERS!!!!! PDT_Armataz_01_34 [flag]

I've heard lots of those STORIES CG, like I hear stories about christmas being banned, police depts not hiring whites etc etc. Besides if some idiot wants the words to the national anthem changed why not treat them as what they are a malcontent freak instead you seem to think they speak for a wider community believe me they don't. Most of the politically correct crap that govts, businesses comes up with is the work of white people who mistakenly think they're acting on the behalf of communities they don't even bother to consult.

Oh and if we're going to get into a "whose ancestors did what in the war", my grandfather served in both world wars, my two uncles fought in the second and before my dad (who was two young) pretty much every male member of my family had served in the British Army.

If there are small L Liberals and soft voters, then I hope that they pay less attention to me and more to the links and details that I post. People who identify themselves as "Liberals" are probably too set to change and would only read my threads to argue.
I will admit that always dwelling on the negative of the other party is bumming me out, and I try to stay on the plus side but there is just so much dirt...

I agree that Mr. Harper is a fine leader and I believe he will be able to rise to the occasion. The problem is that the media has it in for him (poppy politics thread is a great example) and even if what he says is the most noble, someone here will still giggle about his hair. It's amazing that all these Liberal apologists are so keenly aware of CPC leadership, yet blind to the reeking mess that Paul Martin has left behind.

I have posted some things here: The truth in budgeting act that Harper set out is a good example.

 Hi All :D

I have a quick question, I was watching the "vote" last night and can someone tell me why when it came to the Liberal party standing up to cast their vote some of the people that stood up got applause? Why were they clapping for them? I know why they clapped for the independents that stood up for them but why were they clapping for the people in their own party? Are these people leaving or something? Sorry if its a stupid question

Thanks

Others were impressed that they could drink that much and still stand.

I even saw a few CPC members chewing gum & clapping at the same time. Better fast-track those candidates for leadership nomination.

 Hi Guys :D

K, all of the answers you guys gave to my question did give me the giggles, but for some reason I don't think the answers you gave me are the REAL reasons why they were clapping

I was just confused as to why they were clapping for people in their own party, I thought maybe that these people were maybe ones that the Liberals thought might pull a "Belinda Stronach" on them or something. And when they stood up for their own party the Liberals clapped.
