So Harper is impotent? He isn't PM? He did not have a choice?

   

Yes.

He had the option of stepping down and maintaining his credibility in his espoused principles, but he instead chose to remain in power by tabling this massive spending budget. Where is the logic in blaming someone else for something you did?

   

It's pretty weak to solely blame Harper for this considering the coalition demanded it. Had Harper stepped down or refused and lost power to a coalition we would have had this defecit. Unless the coalition was lying?

   

The Liberals got blamed for everything that happened under their watch. They were hated as anti-military because they cut spending yet the public demanded it.

Had Harper not pissed away the surplus we would not be in this situation.

Suck it up and accept guilt for who you voted for.

I would love to see the Liberals function in this recession. I think a lot of you would be eating some crow. On the other hand my taxes will be going up so it's a win lose situation. It's a far different situation than when they took over after Mulroney. We'll soon see I think. I can't wait to say I told you so.

The coalition demanded it, sure, but it was the current Conservative government that bent over backwards to their demands in order to remain in power. THEY even proposed the budget.

   

It'll probably be on the same day that you clowns do the same for HRDC/Adscam/Shawinigate/gun registry/obsolete submarines that kill Canadian sailors/nearly blowing the '95 referendum to the separatists, and all the other incompetent or actively crooked garbage your party got away with. Quit being such a party hack all the time. Maybe the others wouldn't pounce on you so hard if you put the Saint Liberal Narcissus shit on hold for a while.

We did take responsibility for Chretien and Martin. Their choices were supported. We didn't cry and blame others for what they did. They did the right thing.

Grow up and grow a pair. Support your party and its massive debt spending. Support your party giving 10s of billions to failed corporations while good people lose their livelihoods.

No you didn't, and none of your heroes ever did. Yours is still the party where Alphonso Gagliano is the rule, not the exception. If you did Chretien would have been facing a jail sentence right now for all the corruption he personally oversaw and approved. And Paul Martin wouldn't have been made into a Liberal folk hero for cutting billions of dollars in federal health transfers and almost collapsing the provincial health care systems. And don't even mention glorifying a man who bases his privately-owned shipping company outside of Canada just do he can avoid paying Canadian business taxes.

Have you figured out yet how Stephen Harper is going to be personally repsonsible for Chrysler collapsing, or is the next play in Question Period going to be that the Liberal/NDP idea is for the Canadian taxpayer to take over the financing of Chryslers gold-plated union bum employee legacy funds?

From the party hack whose party triplicated the levels of government providing every taxpayer-funded service under the sun that were already being done by provincial and civic govenrment. Yeah, the state has no business in the bedrooms of the nation (might interfere with some of our voters kiddie-diddling and sharia approve wife raping) but we're going to intrude and overtax and over-regulate every other thing that happens in the country.

Ships that fly foreign (read Liberian/Panamanian) flags do so because its cheaper to maintain as the ship operator only has to maintain the safety codes up to the legal minimum standard the flagged (again read Liberian/Panamanian) nation requires. but anyways, continue the argument on who ruined our nation (my money is on all the parties)
