I'm not afraid, I was just simply hoping this could be a place of conservative debate among the varying degrees of the Right, from the moderate, to the Ultra. Liberals are welcome, since they may bring new light to issues, but there is preferance for the right.

Well, labelling this thread as a "Right wing convention" will practically beg all the lefties in the site to come in here.
Furthermore, I won't back down myself. I'll give you fair warning now: I don't believe in private enclaves, and I have a personal policy of forcing them open to be exposed to outside ideas. I'm not really trying to be a dick: I'm trying to open some closed minds.

I agree that people must keep their minds open. I was just hoping that we could do some COnservative Think-tanking here without lefties who think they're the only people in the country that have brains, kinda like tritium and his post "Harper learning from G.W.Bush" about the terrorism plot in Toronto and area. By the way, which part of Texas... I mean Alberta do you hail from?

What's your stance on;
Abortion
Should only be allowed if giving birth will threaten the life of the mother, or rape.
Gay-Marriage
Not too sure, it's ok if you re-define marriage in the constitution
Immigration
More restrictions
Canada/U.S. Relations
Vital to the longevity of both Countries

Personally opposed to it, although I don't believe the government should restrict early-term abortions. Definitley, without a doubt, should not be a part of medicare though (unless the woman's life is at risk).
Gay-Marriage:
Government should be completely removed from all marriage, straight or not.
Immigration:
It's way too lax right now.
Canada/U.S. Relations:
I'm in favour of deeper integration for sure.

What about if the baby will be born with Downs or CF? It can be determined in the first 4 months of pregnancy if the baby will be born with these problems and then the pregnancy can be aborted.
In the case of rape, how many innocent men will be accused of rape so the woman can get an abortion just to have the charges dropped later?

So force poor single pregnant women to pay for an abortion and if they can't offord it and have the baby we'll pay them mothers' allowance for years on end then?
