Did you get assigned Chretien or was he your choice? IF he was your choice, I'd suggest doing your report on a PM that actually did something positive for Canada.
On the world stage, Chretien was a total joke. Took him 6 months to finally visit ground zero in NY(Yes Canadians died that day). He couldn't bother going to the King of Jordan's funeral because it would have interrupted his ski vacation.
Oh and he liked to rescue known terrorists and bring them back to Canada.(Khadr)
He rode on the hatred of Mulroney and the PC party by claiming he would scrap the GST. Well 16 years later and it's still here. He called out the army over a scrap of land on which his friend wanted to build a 9 hole golf course.(Oka)
He claims they eliminated the deficit but all his party did was download the costs onto the provinces, thusly forcing the provinces and municipalities to raise taxes.
He hired a Finance Minister(Paul Martin) that believed he should contibute as little as possible to Canada by registering all the ships of Canada Steamship Lines offshore to avoid the taxes, but still expected the rest of us to cough up.

He refused to do anything about border and immigration security even though it's known that at least ONE of the 9/11 terrorists came through Canada.

But hey, at least he wasn't Brian Mulroney

   

During Cretien's first term, the Home Buyer's Plan was granted an indefinite stay. Before that, if a party didn't like it, all they had to do was let it expire. Now, a party would have to declare war on the plan and try to axe it.

Thats about the only good thing that I remember the Liberals did.

   

Better yet, spend your evenings and weekends smoking meth and stealing cars. Quit school and live off the system. Because Mustang likes people who live off the system, that is why he is unwilling to help a young person out a little by just keeping his fricking mouth shut.

Chretien, as others have noted, had his good and bad points. One major positive of Chretien's government was its management of the National Debt. Chretien did more to bring the debt under control than any Prime Minister before or since, and, despite RR's asinine partisan hackery, was FAR less corrupt than Brian Mulroney.

Nonetheless, as Mustang noted, you're not going to produce a quality research project based on the musings here. To write a research paper, one must conduct research. You have a hundred hours in the library ahead of you if you expect to produce a project you'll be proud of.

   

Ashley, this is what being a conservative does to you. Gives you grand illusion that you are better than people different than you, false impressions that you are the only person paying taxes, misapprehensions and suspicions about other races, colours, creeds and religions of people, and frank dislike of anyone asking for advice for any reason whatsoever.

What he really means, in his own way, is that he despises himself because he is on social assistance and he knows that I pay more in taxes in a month than he is apportioned through the social safety net of our great country in a whole year. And to make his life worse I am an educated, proud and good looking First Nation’s person living a fantastic life while he stews in his trailer park with like minded friends who gather to burn crosses in their white sheets in their spare time.
