It is time you grew up a little OTI and engaged your brain before your mouth. My thinking may be a little too deep for you and based on actual information rather than propaganda but that is not a reason for you not to try to take it in.

The difference between you and I seems to be that I know what I am talking about.

No, it doesn't even seem to be that you know what you're talking about.

The thing is, Pluggy, that it is a war on Canadianism. Harper has spent his whole career sating his belief that the Canada we all know and, presumably, like, be dismantled and converted to some kind of loose association of autonomous regions.

That is no secret and this budget, now that he has a majority of sycophants who are dependent on him, is the start. It is not only about CBC. The "war" has been openly directed against Ontario as Flaherty, the hatchetman, is now confirming.

Canadianism

Care to define that?

No! I can't and I don't know who can. Try George Grant for an attempt.

What it is, though, is something that I think everyone here wants to hold on to - in their own local and personal experience. All that Harper wants to sweep away.

and that is no exaggeration. His own words have made it clear for the last thirty years.

It sounds more like it's a war on your version of Canadianism then, or someone elses you've come across.

Doesn't sound like it's necessarily mine.

Really now? This from someone who spouts off the biggest partisan crap of all time, has his head up his partisan rear end, and can't seem to provide any facts about anything when called out by other posters who have way better insight than he ever will???

You couldn't even start your first post here without putting your foot in your mouth, and have posted nothing worthwhile since then. You have provided no proof of any 'secret agenda' that out Prime Minister might have, nor do you post any intelligent thoughts about anything, choosing to flame and name call when you don't get your way, and you know defeat is at hand.

You are completely pathetic. You give left-wingers an extremely bad name, and are too far past the point of no return in your little partisan bubble. You are the complete poster boy for FAIL. Take your FAIL of epic proportions and leave.

Give it a rest Cp, and stop making yourself look foolish. I have given all the information needed and all the reasoning for everythin I have ever posted - including this. This is a watershed moment in Canadian history.

Does Canada continue to be a progressive Western democracy or does it cease to exist as a unified nation and regress to its status of the 19th. century.

Oil may have replaced furs but that won't last.

You have never addressed the substance of anything I have been involved in. Is it because you are not capable? Or is it because you don't care about anything but your pitiful self.

You haven't really moved past the idea that your version of Canadianism isn't for everyone.

eureka @ Fri Mar 30, 2012 7:53 pm

Don't twist it. I have given no suggestion of what my version of Canadianism is. It certainly does not include an authoritarian government that assaults democracy at every turn and seeks to destroy the unity of the country.

It does not include government that demonises its opposition, Fascist style. Or a society that is slowly regressing to pre WWII class and wealth divisions.

The thing is, Pluggy, that it is a war on Canadianism.

And this, my friends, is the Liberal disease in Canada. There is no room in their minds for the idea that other people could have different ideas than them of what Canada is, or should be.

To be perfectly honest, I would likely fall within the ideological spectrum of the liberal party on a lot of issues, but the arrogance of the party is impossible for to want to associate myself with. I'm a reasonable enough person to realize that not everyone who disagrees with me about policies is actually evil.

I think a lot of the partisan hacks we get around here need to remind themselves that as much as we might disagree with what other people think is best for our country, the vast majority of us, do actually want what's best for this country.
