MONTREAL - Out-of-province money is flowing toward Quebec student activists amid warnings their protest movement could persist into the summer.
Trade unions based outside Quebec have already confirmed sending more than $36,000 into the bank accounts of the province's largest student federations.

Is it too late to ask if France has a return policy?
Spoilt brats, they have the lowest tuition of any but only due to the payments from the ROC. Time to bring in the Vandoos

Where are these children's parents?
Can the unions be charged for financing insurrection?

Your union dues at work. Going towards student protests instead of the strike fund.

Read the article. The donations are going to the student union organizations, not to the personal bank accounts of whatever hooligans are in the street. These are 2 separate phenomena. Rioting doesnt require financing.

So why would they send money now?
Why didn't they send money before?

It does if yer a starving student that's too busy acting like a fuckhead instead of working to help pay their own education costs.
Why do people donate to the Red Cross after disasters, but not before? Are you asking why they didn't donate to a cause before the cause existed?
The Quebec government's recent decision to increase tuition fees is the cause that the Student Unions are fighting currently and they need money for lawyers, lobbyists, PR, etc. It's also what the triggered the demonstrations that sparked riots.

But your argument is based on the funds not being used for anything related to the protests. "Rioting doesn't need financing"?
Sure it does. Just as you mentioned above. Lawyers, PR, etc...all part of the fight.
Tuition is going up. Time for these assholes to grow up, realize that they have it great in Quebec and in Canada as a whole and get back to school.

Maybe. But that's really beside the point. Whenever people are faced with an increased cost - be they taxpayers, homeowners, gun owners, pet owners, school parents, university students, whatever, they will oppose the increased cost. You stand up for your intersts, expect that others will stand up for theirs too, whether you or I agree with their position or tactics is a separate discussion.

Imagine you are suing the government for some wrong you think it committed agains your neighbourhood. Meanwhile, your neighbour is out in the street burning cop cars for the same reason. If I donate money to fund your lawsuit, does that mean I'm financing the burning of cop cars?
