Given that we're likely to be headed into a spring election and that Harper will remain PM, who would take over from Dion when they lose?

Hmm. I'm thinking Gerard Kennedy, and after he loses, the messiah: Justin Trudeau.

Donald Duck, or maybe Snagglepuss.

Seriously I don't think the Liberals could afford another leadership race.

They will stick with Dion and become mired in party infighting.

Dion has the backing of the godfather Chretien so he'll be there for a while, and that's good, because he sucks.

I have the strong impression that Dion will be the next PM of Canada. The con are stagnating in the poll and Dion and is team is gaining support from the left and from all the liberal who didn't vote in the last election. Anyway in Québec the federalist seam to have rally around Dion wich lead the conservative with the strong possibility of loosing up to 7 seat in Québec. Of course this is a mistery to me. There will also be some vote spliting that will help the Bloc make some of the gain in the riding it lost to the con to conterbalance the lost they will have in more traditionnal liberal area where they have gain seat in the last election.

Wait till the mud starts to sling, Dion will whished he never entered politics. Talk about a sitting duck or frog.

I think Dion will last as party leader even if the Liberals remain in the minority after the next election (whenever it may come). Though, I doubt the Liberals will be the minority party after the next election.

I also hope Justin Trudeau runs (Maclean's said he will, but we'll see) just to see people like hwancker's heads explode at the thought of another Trudeau in power.

I have no doubt the Liberals will do better in Quebec this time around, but considering the Liberals have already fallen 2 points in the polls since Dion was named leader, things aren't good.

Once the rest of Canada get's to hear Mr. Dion speak with his poor English, everything West of Ontario will be Blue.

Ontario is the big ticket. When Harper and the CPC paint Dion as one of Chretien's old buddies, highlight his poor record on the Environment and point out that he was a seperatist, it'll be keep things as is and possibly, gain a couple more seats.

So you loved what that commie did to this country. Too bad he didn't kick off a little earlier then he did.

Dion is a whoreable leader.

Canadians were very unhappy at that time with Mulroney. It could have been anyone at that point heading the Liberals and they would have won.

Did I say that?

Here's a little saying for you to consider hwancker:

De mortuis nil nisi bonum dicendum est

Who will replace Dion? Easy answer, I hear George W. Bush will be without a job and everyone knows he's a thieving bastard....He and the Liberal leadership have a lot in common and could work well together.
