Zing!

But yeah, it was a bit of a dull game. Bring on the Final!

112 minutes for Germany to take a 1-0 lead.....

So is that it - sudden death?

Unsound @ Sun Jul 13, 2014 3:30 pm

Great game, despite the lack of scoriing in regular time. The right team won, imo

I can't say, didn't watch. Hope the nazi stuff is kept to a minimum, but probably have to sit thru a lot of that shit. Be interesting to read the Brit sportswriters who are big on that stuff - did they cheer for the Jerries or the Argies. Gotta suck for them.

Let's not talk about soccer for a while, OK? Let's say 4 years.

Yesterday, I biked down to The Battlefields Park and watched a girl's rugby game... much more interesting than soccer.

Excellent [B-o]

Unsound @ Sun Jul 13, 2014 4:20 pm

Knowing you it was the girls that made it interesting, not the particular sport they were playing.

;)

It was a good final, for a 0-0 game. Argentina has the better of the first half IMO, but Germany had the depth and cardio to see the game out.

All in all this has been a fantastic World Cup. Goals aplenty, stunning upsets from day one, and best of all, an emphasis on attacking. Save for the odd game, attack and not defense was the watchword. Gone are the days of the sweeper and of catenaccio to be replaced by the marauding full-backs free flowing passing.

Best World Cup I can remeber!
