We'll also want to make sure we password protect the invites, to prevent this;

Yes. The practice of "region crashing," where a group of nations all move to a region with the aim of seizing the UN Delegate position, is part of the game. Certain groups within NationStates are particularly adroit at this, and can attack very quickly.

We can't have someone taking over our region. How come the militarist nations in our region didn't notice this?

I can password protect the invites.......what do you want the password to be?

Just Joined the region. Myconas is proud to announce its new currency is the Beaver pelt.

Will those of us who have already joined the region need the pass word or only those wishing to join the us from here on need it?

That'll learn the spudhead to build a bridge to the mainland and not out to the rock. :P

edit....however...Canadaka being a region of democratic nations a vote could be called and I would bow to such a vote if indeed it went in favour of acceptance. However I say this........he's from PEI the so called birth place of Canadian Confederation, yet there were amongst the last to join confederation.....there's something fundalmentally wrong with that imo. Keep that in mind.

With those words he has shown that he does not wish to join but to dominate our region by any means possible. Thus I would vote NO on the matter.

Newvinland issue:

The Issue
Several major city streets were clogged with bicycles this morning, as the environmental group 'Two Wheels Good, Four Wheels Bad' staged a protest. Several hundred riders ambled through downtown streets, blissfully ignoring the torrent of abuse hurled at them by thousands of motorists running late for work.

The Debate
"People are sick of dirty, smelly automobiles," said protest organizer Bill Mistletoe. "They're choking the city, the environment--our lives! Cars must be banned!"
[Accept]

"The only thing people are sick of is long-haired idiots riding their bicycles at two miles an hour on major thoroughfares," says committed motorist Pip Jones. "People shouldn't be able to protest like this. The government needs to crack down on them."
[Accept]

The Automotive Manufacturers Association, meanwhile, has called for government support. "It's clear that we need to boost the level of automobile support in this country. This protest this morning is a clear indication of... um... anyway, we need more government funds."
[Accept]

The Government Position
The government has yet to formalize a position on this issue.

Advice?

Ban cars and people are out of work, crack down on protesters and population gets pissy. Back the car companies and have the same ppl upset but more income and prosperity from ability of the population to get arround at a faster pace.

BartSimpson BartSimpson:
Very cool.

I've created the Empire of Arenellia - which is a small, Northern Pacific island which is heavily armed, has compulsory military service, a free press, mandatory voting, and strictly guarded individual civil rights for Citizens.

Citizenship is obtained by either serving two years in the military or eight years in the civil service. Non-citizens have basic human rights but do not enjoy the privileges of Citizenship.

The government is a Roman style Imperium with an elected Senate and an elected Assembly.

"One Leader, One Nation, One People"

(Okay history buffs, where've you heard that before?)

No idea about yer quote Bart, but the basis of your country sounds a lot like the world that Starship Troopers was set in. The good book, not the trashy movies.

I've just created The Holy Empire of the Sublmniverbum, and I'm in the South Pacific.

We have adopted beaver pelts as currency.

I think we're listed by the U.N. as a 'corporate bordello'. Not sure exactly what they're implying, but I don't like their tone.

I can't move to CanadaKA, so maybe I'll go where FatBastard is and set up a CanadaKA exile community.
