Happy with everything except the "Retail and Information Technology."

I figure if the government is designed to be in contant opposition with its people (not enough to cause serious unrest, though), then the population will become stronger in attempts to gain more power over the government.

My stance on the compulsory elections issue was, "Why do we need elections, anyway? Seems to me it would be much simpler if you just decided what was right, and did it. Wouldn't that save everyone a lot of time?"

The Holy Empire of The Sublimniverbum is a tiny, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5 million are effectively ruled by a group of massive corporations, who run for political office and provide their well-off citizens with world-class goods and services. Their poorer citizens, however, are mostly starving to death while being urged to go out and get real jobs. The populace has reasonably extensive civil rights, although these are mostly aimed at allowing them to buy whatever they like.

The minute, pro-business government, or what there is of one, concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Commerce and Defence are on the agenda. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Basket Weaving, Uranium Mining, and Automobile Manufacturing industries.

Crime is a serious problem. The Sublimniverbum's national animal is the beaver, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the beaver pelt.

The Dominion of Myconas is a tiny, pleasant nation, notable for its compulsory military service. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 5 million are highly moralistic and fiercely conservative, in the sense that they tend to believe most things should be outlawed. People who have good jobs and work quietly at them are lauded; others are viewed with suspicion.

The medium-sized government devotes most of its attentions to Law & Order, with areas such as Social Welfare and Commerce receiving almost no funds by comparison. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 12%. A healthy private sector is led by the Pizza Delivery industry, followed by Information Technology and Arms Manufacturing.

Voting is voluntary. Crime is moderate. Myconas's national animal is the Wolf and its currency is the Beaver pelt.

   

I like to think of it as Ontario with mountains.

I'm looking at some of the other countries, and some of them seem quite whacked.



I signed on for one of these dealies a few years ago. Never went back. I suppose that account's either been deleted, or it's now worth fifty bazillion gold bars now because I never screwed with it & it just grew.
