I've have something F****D up with my PC...maybe someone can help.

I appear to be having trouble with I.E.....as I write this I am operating in safe mode....the only way I can get a connection.....So obvioously it is not my provider...which I thought at first but rather something I have done since this morning.....I check my network settings...and all seems good, yet everytime I goto start a web page I get unable to locate server...Cabt check my email Ither....HOWEVER i can still play COD online? WTF is this shit?

SOMEONE HELP BEFORE THIS STUPID ASS PC GETS THROWN IN FREAKING TRAFFIC FOLLOWED BY A BATH IN BATTERY ACID! *ahem  please and thank you!

Comeon geek heads...time to shine! :P

Perhaps I could ask someone for remote assistance?

Regardless, you should still use Firefox instead of I.E, it is way better and automatically blocks pop ups instead of you dl all the other blocker crap. Security is better too.

could have been a firewall setting......

canadian1971 @ Mon Jun 13, 2005 3:55 pm

To be honest i don't have a clue what it was or what I did!.....I posted that first mess. from safe mode...that was the 1st time I managed to get a solid conection since this morning.......there was a couple times when i managed to view a page...but for only a sec....as soon as I tried to go somewhere else it would stop working.....It was confussing the shit outta me!

My provider was ok because I had no problem play Call of Duty online....Im still baffled!

Maybe something aboot the safe mode fixed what ever it was? I don't know...i don't care...works now!

I've had that problem before where my modem flashes a message light(saying I'm not connected)when I actually am still online, repairing the IP usually works, not sure if it's an IE problem or some software I have running.

usababe @ Mon Jun 13, 2005 6:09 pm

the best place to start is to recall what you were doing before the problem started...did you open an email, install some software, did you have any strange popups or other problems with your pc? also, make sure you have the latest versions of IE downloaded....

good luck.

Using I.E. is like self suicide.

Always install all windows updates and use FireFox.

Magnum @ Mon Jun 13, 2005 6:49 pm

Firefox is ok but not all websites support it!!!

IE is more versatile!!

What do you mean it doesn't support all websites? IE has too many bugs and potential viruses.
