So right - sorry Tricks - my mistake. I meant Streaker. :)

Jesus, how soon you guys forget!! :P

Ride, why not start a thread proposing an election for the Conservative leader?

After all this, I think an election for Con leadership would be most amusing to observe. :P

mea culpa, Streaker, beloved leader... It was late when all the fun was happening and the Cons were so entertaining I had them on my mind. I'm standing in the corner now.

I would like to point out that the Liberals' contributions in this thread have been to express non-partisan respect; the converse has not been true for Tories posting in the Liberal forum.

Since ridenrain is so upset though about Liberals posting in the Conservative subforum (like he does in the Liberal's) Perhaps Trevor can make it so you can't post in the subforum if you don't belong to that particular group?

Is that possible?

ridenrain @ Mon Dec 18, 2006 11:36 am

Could you please show me where I've gone on a anti-liberal tirade in the Liberal section? I've honestly tried very hard to tread lightly there so I doubt you'll find one.

The plan woudn't work because it also covers provincial parties. Here in BC, I'm a liberal supporter but federally, I'm CPC. It also gets strange when folks like you show support for 2 parties.

I think the group leader can choose to make it a closed subforum, so RUEZ should have that option.

I don't read you in the Liberal section, I'm afraid, only in the general politics section. I ignore the MANY threads you've started in there and only read the Liberal's threads. I do, however, read your contributions in the general Politics section.

In fact, I'll abandon this thread here and put it in a more appropriate place. It was only respect for Ruez that drew us in here in the first place. Since that respect made him somehow suspect in your eyes, i respectfully withdraw, with my apologies to anyone who was offended (apparently that was only ridenrain who has an odd double standard about who ought to post where. ;) )

Yes why are Liberals in here giving advice and criticism?

No one offered advice or criticism. Some Liberals offered only expressions of respect for one of your team. If that sparks your jealousy, you might want to consider why he has earned respect across partisan lines where you apparently haven't, nor has ridenrain. Sorry you're not admired as much as your colleague. Some people achieve respect, others don't. If you must hate Ruez for being better and smarter than you it only reflects poorly upon you.

Listen I’m getting sick of you accusing me of shit I haven't done. Where did I say I hated Ruez?,

Trust me if I have something to say I’ll say it, I don’t need you to put words in my mouth.

Mind your own business.

I think it's a great idea, nor do I think membership in more than one group would be a problem. I feel I do belong in both NDP and Liberals groups but not in the Conservative group. Unfortunately with those subforums being open one can easily get drawn in by a thread title without even noticing which subforum it's in. If we'd had that closed forum restriction for posting (not reading) this weekend past that ugliness could have been avoided. The Liberals would not have been able to intrude, however benign our intents.

So you don't read my threads in the Liberal section but you still claim that I have some double standard? How very "progressive" of you.

Ye, because most oft he threads in the Liberal subforum wre strated by you but here you're bitching about Libs posting in the Conservative subforum. That is a double standard.

Very true. And, at the very least, by making it a closed subforum they could have a "leadership convention" without any interference from outsiders.

I'm trying to find a more appropriate subforum for this discussion.. Maybe Rants & Raves but with everyone's indulgence perhaps we can just discuss it here since it came up from this issue? It seems for effort than it's worth to replicate the posts in a new thread. I think the issue of Conservative Group membership is settled for now anyway.

ridenrain @ Mon Dec 18, 2006 12:11 pm

I actually have some attacks in the Liberal section that I forgot about.
Please have a mod erase them and I won't post there again.
