Diddn't some Canadian city, like Toronto toss this idea around a couple years back? Only to be stopped by PETA.

Geese cause problems and need to be dealt with, using them as food for the homeless makes more sense than anything else.

   

Geese today, black caviar tomorrow. Why people need to work? Just become homeless and you will be eating much better. System will have serious crack if they'll do it.

   

Yep, caviar is really a threat to airports, airplanes and people and get gets shot every day.

Those birds are killed now anyway. We can choose to leave them to rot somewhere, or we can use them to feed some kids in shelters.
I know what I would choose.

   

Air travel is just soo much more important than the conservation of earth's wildlife and especially wildlife that poops.

   

We should all just kill ourselves to make more room for the wildlife.

Why does the ethics of this have to be discussed. It' hunting, with the meat not going to waste the way it does for trophy hunting. Good.

Doubt if it will do much for the homeless tho. It's not like we don't have enough food to give them now.

   

Very few people live on the sea and yet we have destroyed the wildlife there. Immigrants and geese are not the problem dude. look deeper!

   

Don't joke, some people take human extinction very seriously.

Seriously, so much ado about nothing. You're going to cull the birds anyway, why waste them? It's win-win in my opinion.

   

Nature will do that for us.



My first thought also.

Canada Geese, like many species of birds, are rampant in Vancouver. They have gummint folks running around in the parks and addling their eggs. Hunting licences would make more sense.

   

Well all I have to say is, thank GOD an activist said it's ok. I mean where would we be without self-absorbed shmucks telling us what's right and what's wrong based on their own personal feelings?

   

I find that a very wrong statement, I think it is wrong to say that a shmuck is self-absorbed.

   

Canadian Geese in California have earned the moniker of 'Canadian Pigeons'. And for good reason.

Let the homeless eat them. I'm not sure why they don't just open a 12 month hunting season on them and then earn some extra revenue in hunting licenses.

   

It makes too much sense, that's why.

   

Because having hunters running around NYC shooting at things may not be such a good idea. I think most cities feel that way and ban hunting in city limits. And if you just hunt the geese in their wild habitat the remainder will crowd into the city even more - they're not totally stupid.
