I leave the country for one day and spiderman dies? wtf man.

It reminds me of the politically incorrect ditty I learned as a kid "I don't care what the white folks say / Santa Claus is a black man."

Okay, so I want to see the Shaka Zulu movie with Adam Sandler cast in the lead role. Or maybe we can do a Pancho Villa tribute with Colin Ferrell playing Pancho?

See, if this kind of thing with Spiderman is okay then turnabout should also be fair, right?

Sandler would make a terrible Shaka. I'm thinking Collin Firth or Edward Norton.

The British commander (Henry Frere) can be played by Denzel Washington and his second in command by Will Smith. Star studded cast right here.

Frank Dumas, the mulatto/black Haitian writer of the Three Musketeers, one of France's greatest writers will be played a white man with blue eyes and straight hair in the upcoming movie about his life. Imagine Shakespeare was played by Don Cheedle?

Marvel ain't got shit on historical revisionism via Hollywood.

Most times, it's better having a good actor than someone who looks similar to the historical figure... that's what make-up's for.

Gérard Depardieu is a great actor.

Meh, Spider Man's not an historic figure, nor is the comic trying to make Peter Parker Black.

This alter-universe comic has that Parker is gone and a new figure has taken up the Spidey calling after his departure. I've seen Batman alter-verse (animated series) where Bruce Wayne is an old man and has a new teenage charachter step in to replace him as the new Batman. Nobody complained there. What's the dif? Is it really just the racial barrier?

Nothing beats John Wayne as Gengis Kahn in The Conqueror
