I had someone run into me while stopped at an intersection years ago, his insurance tried to argue that he was not at fault . My insurance company paid and fixed my vehicle right away and went after his insurance company.
And THAT is what your insurance company has to pay lawyers for. If it costs the insurance companies, in the end it'll cost you.

I doubt they had to pay a lawyer they knew the DF was in the wrong and they wern't going to hold me up for a 1800.oo repair.

You think Saskatchewan is a utopia don't you.? Guess what know that the NDpeeons are gone people are going to start re-evaluating how much these programs really cost and the actual benefits that come with it.

Considering that they quietly announced a couple of days ago that the average policy was going to go up a couple of hundred dollars per year, the insurance jerks must have known in advance that the court decision was going to see the cap tossed out.

No fault means no litigation. You don't think litigation costs money???

Utopia? I don't know about that. If we narrow it down to football and auto insurance, than yea, best around.

It's cheaper to insure vehicles in Saskatchewan, evaluate that. What's with taking this personally? I've had to insure vehicles in SK, AB, Kentucky and BC. SGI is the most affordable system of the four. The least hassle, too. If there's a better system, tell me about it. I'm all ears.

I understood the theory behind the cap idea was to limit the "oh my neck" whiners from bilking the system but unfortunately it painted everyone with the same brush. I was rear-ended in Edmonton almost 2 years ago and was going to be a victim of the cap. $4000 doesn't justify 4 weeks of relentless migraine, and shoulder and back injuries that kept me from being able to do my job (nurse) for months. My shoulder is still a mess but is considered a soft tissue injury so the insurance company's answer up to now has been here's the most we can give you--sorry the woman on the cell phone with an oversized SUV altered your life forever, here's $4000. I'm sure King Ralph would have rethought that if he was the victim. I'm quite willing to pay a little extra on my insurance if it means proper compensation for legitimate injuries. Wonder how much research Ralph did that he didn't ever find the stats that say broken bones heal faster than a lot of strains, pulls and connective tissue injuries that can result in years of pain and suffering, sometimes with lifelong negative effects. Can't wait to hear what the insurance company says now as they were sure pushing to settle 6 weeks ago. Think maybe they knew what was coming down the pike?
