I have alot of friends but I just cant yap that much...I gap out on the phone, put it down and forget I am talking to someone....I usually hook up with folks once or twice a month...I am generally out seeing someone different everyday of the week...I am what they call a little social butterfly that is truly anti social

Texting is part of the reason kids have no social skills and is a good reason to die when driving .

For God's sake people, cut the freakin umbilicle cord already
IF you can't leave your home for 30 minutes without the need to "be in touch", seek professional help :P

Teens don't understand how great it was before the whole cell phone thing...
Teens used to leave the house and no one could get in touch with them to tell them they had to come home :D

I remember going all through the country by train (in a day ) when I was 13. No cell, nothing. No way for my mom to get in touch with me.
I don't get that she was never worried...

I had my first long time without my phone on my trip since I didn't work for nearly 4 days. I couldn't call my parents or anyone...and we were about 3,000 miles away from home in the middle of no where driving through the Rockies and Saskatchewan. It was nice and relaxing but it worried me a bit. There was actually one point where I woke up and was scared because I felt like I needed to call home to say I was alive.

Basically, at the end of the 2nd day I made a status update saying "I am alive" and that was it.

Every town and village, and many places in between, in Canada, have pay phones for such 'emergencies'!

Cell phones and texting are just another "technology" to come along that some people become addicted to.
I've never seen the need to have a cell phone even though my 3 kids and most of the people I know do.
I don't care if I disappear from the face of the earth for 2 weeks. I even relish it.

Yeah, until you are driving in the boofucking middle of nowhere between my house and Spokane in WA, USA, and your car breaks down, or you are on Spokane Intl Airport, and you want to let people know you arrived savely, waiting for your plane to take off, and they DO NOT have payphones, just courtesy phones.

THEN a cell phone comes in pretty handy to send a text...

Then young people wonder why car insurance is so damn expensive for them.
