this is awsome, now i can pay even more taxes. not only to maintain the park, but also for someone to clean it up after the campers
and wont you be in a big rush to go for a walk in the park in the evenings ??

I was under the assumption that although a park is considered public property it actually belongs to the city it's within. Does that give the homeless the right to set up shop in any city property? How about public works? They probably have a nice lunch room that a guy could get comfortable in and watch some hockey.

im gonna walk right through their tent city. i, amongst others, pay for the park, so im going to walk my ass everywhere in that park
Screw paying for an apartment, I'm moving to the park!

Well I was in the process of making a move to Vancouver (or at least thinking about it) and worried about a place to stay... guess that problem is solved.
Stanley park, near Prospect Point, great views, just need to bring my pup tent

all this is going to do is leave the parks into trash and vagrancy cities. Your right, it is going to cost lots more cash to clean up after the bums who now, can never be kicked out.

Oh this will be reverse soon enough.
The police have a hard enough job, than to deal with bumbs and now possible drug camps (places to go get high).
This will be over turned so quickly with public out cry and police pressure.
It'll be yesterday's news in a month.

All it did was strike down Victoria's one bylaw, and I believe they enacted another one almost immediatley afterwords.

Edmonton's mayor is quite concerned about this also

. I for one hope that this comes to pass all across th country. Perhaps then instead of cities spending
millions of dollars to house 'object'd art' they will at least turn on the heat and power in some of their empty warehouses and help the homeless. The first step to getting 'back on their feet'!

I agree with you yogi, but how many homeless really want to get back on their feet, especially when they are givin the bare necessities to live.
