Enough Brits have been locked up for silly shit there for them to know better. Just don't travel there. Simple.

If you do travel there, respect their medieval society or get harassed and arrested.

Not so much surprised as I am stunned. I think we lose sight of that perspective and instead we think that our culture is the best and that our customs and ways should be exported elsewhere. The UAE is within its rights to enforce what they see as proper ways in their country just as we are free to do so here.

However, this Brit seems to have been vacationing. It seems odd to arrest someone for something like that, especially after the other woman decided to approach the Brit and scold her for dressing what she saw as improper.

   

By radicalization, you mean they are sick of the Palestinian terrorists and the Black Hats and the settlers. yah... I guess you could call the majority of Israelis radicals by that definition.

Just because Israel is surrounded by other jackasses does not excuse its own jackassery. Get that through your head. I don't support or like places like Saudi Arabia and the U.A.E. just like you guys, but I am also not in the camp of "Israel can do no wrong". Israel, like its neighbours, acts like a dick and therefore doesn't get much support from me. The fact that they are a democracy doesn't sway my opinion in the least. Any country that acts like a douche is going to receive my scorn be it a dictatorship, democracy, oligarchy, or whatever.

So please stop playing the same ridiculous card that so many people play that tries to excuse Israel's actions. The whole "but the other guys are much worse" thing is getting really old and does nothing to address the fact that Israel has been kind of a dick lately.
