The Sudanese really aren't doing much for the perception of Islam, are they? And judging by how the media works (especially with the red-top tabloids here) the racial and religious tensions are just going to escalate as much as they did after "7/7".

I doubt anything or anyone can do much do improve the perception of Islam for the average citizen in the western world. I've never seen an organization do as piss poor job in public perception as Islam. I have to admit I can only roll my eyes at this type of crap. I can only hopethe British government can secure her release. If it will help inform the Sudanese I will never step foot in their country if they release her.

The usual experts are of the opinion that some Somali official is trying to aggravate things......they are already pissed about our criticism of their genocidal activities.....they really resent that......don't ya know?

I predict if she gets lashed there will be riots in the UK.
Right now it doesnt look good for her.

doloreshaze @ Thu Nov 29, 2007 1:23 pm

Well, she's been jailed for fifteen days.

And then she'll be deported. The absolute shame. :?

Sherminator333 @ Thu Nov 29, 2007 2:30 pm

A shame she went there in the first place

And heres the latest from the religon of peace;
Sudan protesters: Want to Execute teacher

DerbyX @ Fri Nov 30, 2007 8:04 am

All the more reason to let them live in whatever violent religious backward society they want. leave them to kill each other over which prophet came when and never intervene when one sect kills the other or when they enslave their own people.

No aid, no food, no help. They can pray to allah during droughts.

Lets not waste any of our resources on people who want to kill a teacher for naming a bear mohammed at the behest of muslim children.

Brenda @ Fri Nov 30, 2007 8:34 am

I so agree with you Derby...

How many times has "The rich West" sent money and goods to Sudan? Feed the world?

How enlightened, eh! Judge an entire nation by the actions of a few. You might notice that their justice system did not bend to the wishes of this few or she would have suffered lashes and months in jail or even death.

ShepherdsDog @ Fri Nov 30, 2007 8:52 am

oh yeah, Sudanese Muslims are a real tolerant and peaceful bunch. It's only 'a few' who are responsible for the massacres in Darfur.
