There isn't a car in production that has any style anymore. They're all boring and ugly.

No. Dodge Chrysler has lots of style. And horsepower too, specifically meant to appeal to the legion of road ragin' tailgatin' hyper-aggressive meatheads that love to buy them. They're still a flip of the coin though if you get a good one or one that's a total lemon after 5000K. Not worth the risk and better to buy boring than get stuck with the classic Al Bundy Dodge.

DrCaleb DrCaleb:
All I know is with 92 octane and a quick tune, suddenly the dyno horsepower showed 15% driveline losses, which is closer to other vehicles.

The tuning did far more than the change in octane.

Not only are the vast majority of vehicles tuned to one median air density, they are also tuned for maximum fuel efficiency and engine lifespan (very conservative).

If you don't mind running purely synthetic fluids and do regular check ups, it is not uncommon to exceed factory HP specifications by a considerable margin. Ie, more than one WRX STI rolling around Edmonton, with an excess of 300 WHp, with no change to any internal components. Obviously, boosted vehicles gain substantially more than NA, just from tuning, as you can make a large amount of gains on the boost control (trade lag for higher power via the blow off controls).

Don't even get me started on what you can hit with precision assemblies versus the fresh from factory motor.

What a wonderful budget.

You can definitely see Gerald Butt's fingerprints all over this one. ROTFL

Meh, the Challenger is okay, but I wouldn't go so far as to call that "style". Homage to something that had style would be a better description. The retro-redesigned Mustangs had some style for a couple of model years, until they changed the lights and made them ugly again.

You can make any car go fast. That doesn't make it cool. Cue a Fast & Furious clip for proof.

They're the piece-of-shit car you bought when you were 16, that you thought was oh-so-cool, even though every adult in your life tried to talk you out of it.

I think it's funny that, back in the day, the ugliest car on the road was the AMC Pacer, the "Fishbowl" on wheels. And now, today, that's the car from the the '70s that most resembles virtually every car made by the major manufacturers. They all look fishbowls now, save the retros like the Mustang and Challenger. Quality transportation, maybe. Modern safety features, sure. But BORING. Grocery-getters. In terms of style and driving pleasure, I'll take my '74 Olds or my '87 Grand National over anything made today.

I never liked vehicles with massive overhang and oodles of unsprung weight. They were just upturned bathtubs missing the hot/cold and drain. :D

Yeah, but a bath is a comfortable place to be! The Olds definitely fits your description, but it's like you're riding on a cloud. And style...

Well. let's hope he does't inter-vein, since that would be a pretty radical procedure.

I for one am a huge supporter of the monarchy for this reason. I believe it's strength is that those who use the power aren't actually those who have the power. Should they abuse the power enough or go against the will of the people, that power can and should be taken away.

That said, I'm not be hoping for intervention yet. If that card is played at the wrong time it will be the end of our constitutional monarchy. I think it's possible it could be played against Trudeau at some point in the future.

My first car was a '75 Buick LeSabre 4 door, in Blue. I nearly bought a two door just like that Olds, with a convertible white top about 10 years ago. It would have been a 'highway couch'. Big Olds 455 4 barrel. Only thing it wouldn't have passed is a gas station. ;)

But it was a rust bucket. Not worth the cost to rebuild it. :(
