Typical Canadian approach, politically correct uptight anal civil servants.

The child was born in Canada, the mother wants her child to be raised in her country of birth, and when possible to be reunited at a later date with her baby.

Nope Canada wants to adopt the child out, or take her back to China where she will be persecuted.

Classic government B.S.

   

The child didn't do anything, and I'm pretty sure it isn't a threat to national security. Let the Canadian-Born baby stay.

   

Ok where does the baby stay if she is left behind? I didnt get that part. Does she have family here or something? If she has family here then they can potition Childrens Aide to adopt the child. The first thing Childrens Aide will do is gladly let family adopt because it is a hell of a lot eaiser on them and less work. Tht is if they are fit to adopt.

   

I'm assuming the baby wasn't born in Canada otherwise wouldn't she get citizenship or is that only if the father is Canadian. THe article is too vague.

I understand her plight but it galls me that these people seem to think Canada is some sort of "breeding" ground for refugees and illegals and expect to get away free or get a free ticket to Canada because their child was born here. What exactly is this person a refugee of? Was she a criminal in China or something?

   

Child services. But the Canadian Gov't said no, they will adopt her out to a Canadian family.

Why adopt. Can't you raise a child without adoption??

   

You do not get instant Citizenship if your child is born in Canada. This is both for Canada and the USA.

If you are deported, your children usually follow, unless they are (1) old enough to care for themselves, and (2) were born in Canada or are Naturalized.

   

I'm pretty sure a child born in Canada gets citizenship, if not, please state otherwise.

   

I'm sorry but you miss read my post.

If YOU are not a Canadian, but you have a child in Canada. Yes, the child is a Canadian citizen.

However, the parent does not get instant citizenship because of her child's nationality.

When the child turns 18 yrs old, the Canadian born child can sponsor the parent in.

In the United States the term for these children are anchor babies, and they are trying to outlaw this.

I hope Canada remains compassionate on this issue.

Ok, so what does she want to happen to her child. Where does whe want the child to be kept for 20 years till she is old enough to sponsore dear ol mom from china???? And who is going to pay for the childs up bringing?????

I dont think mom has thought about this. The only option for the kid to stay here is for her to be adotped............

I guess she should have thought abut this before she got pregnant and was not a legal Canadian!
