The laws WERE liberalized and it didn't affect trade one bit.
Wanna bet? Have you driven across the border lately? I do it a few time every week and have for twenty years. The difference following all the pot busts out here are hard to miss.

Nothing to do with terrorism and national security, obviously.
They do a neat little trick at all the border crossings here. They line up 5 or 10 cars at a time bumpers touching and walk the line of cars with drug sniffing dogs. The US custom guys even tell you what they're doing, so no, it has nothing to do with terrorism or public security here. The trade in drugs is a major problem here.

I don't think this is a pot-issue as well as a booze issue. Drunk people forget what they are doing, stoned people don't. I don't do both, btw.
I'd like to see weed legalized, treated as alcohol, and taxed like tobacco. Want to light up? Go down to a privately owned weed bar where you can purchase and consume weed.
The tax revenue makes me happy.

It’s never going to happen. The tax revenue is in no way going to curtail the “un-taxed illegal trade” and the various governments know it.
As I expressed in the past, until there’s a way of determining during a police stop someone is under the influence of pot while driving, I don’t want to see another intoxicant available on a wider basis.

I feel safer in a car when the driver is straight.

How sad. You don't leave a baby in the oven; you take it out when the meat thermometer says 145F or when the skin is a tender, golden brown.
Leaving a baby in the oven? even on Morphine that would be hard to imagine.
Where do people like this come from?

Perhaps this is why Harper is so against legalizing mary-jane.
Makes a good argument...
Every pot head knows mix good weed with too much alcohol your headed for black out city. He has a substance abuse problem period.
