I think it's incredibly naive to believe (that rhymed) that this database would just vanish, like a fart in the breeze, just because the legislature declared it over. Give your heads a shake. Now that it exists, the database will not be killed by a parliamentary vote.

I think they would risk some serious legal trouble if they didn't destroy it and were caught using it for something else.

yer a fucking bard...obviously your true calling, rather than labour economics. That information is forever somewhere. However, new information isn't being collected....at least in the same fashion.

I wonder if the robo-calls guys had registered firearms?

In fact, isn't it funny how the whole robo-calls thing has just faded away....?

Oh, I'm sure the official LGR data is long gone, but I'm also pretty sure that CSIS (or some other security organziation) made a copy or two. to use on a rainy day..

Idiot!

Did you cry like this when Chretien won a similiar majority?

Can you explain the relevance? If Chretien had crushed a valuable programme that had the support of the great majority of the population and had a benefit similar to this one that is a proven reducer of homicides against women (mostly) and of suicides, what would you have said then?

And why do you and some others consistently resort to these strawman leaps?

FieryVulpine @ Wed Apr 04, 2012 10:10 am

Maybe we should have started a rope registry to stop people from hanging themselves. Or a silverware registry to prevent stabbings. Or how about a two-by-four registry to abate the rise in people hitting each other with blunt objects?

Yeah, that's the ticket. :P

No. We should sell all small arms including automatic weapons in hardware stores, right next to the rope and the 2x4s. Heavier stuff you have to sign up for the registry, right next to the silverware one.

This is a fun game.

So where do I register my fists then? Just in case I get caught in a barroom brawl.

Still spouting off with the disproven opinions I see. Who is using a Strawman again?

In your first paragraph you create a strawman argument and in your second paragraph you denounce strawman arguments.

Just thought I'd do a public service and point that out. [popcorn]
