H1N1 Vaccine- Should you get it or not?

I also believe that people who don't get vaccinated (at least at a point when it is easily available to them) deserve similar scorn.
I was getting to that. I posted an article a week ago from the newspaper here, that says it is cancelled again. We are in BC, beyond Hope. I am not holding my breath for any vaccine to get here.

if you eat healthy and are active i would not think a shot is necessary.
While it certainly is a good idea for people to eat properly and exercise, that's not necessarily going to help much with the flu.
After all, even a person who
doesn't exercise, etc. will still probably have a pretty decent immune system. Unless there is some specific nutrient that is missing, having a muscular, toned, etc. body doesn't necessarily mean your immune system is that much better than the 400 pound guy sitting on his couch eating cheetos.

I havent gotten a shot and have been exposed to it.
Not sure what exactly you mean by 'exposed to it'. Its quite possible to know someone with influenza, to even shake their hand, etc. but not get sick, not necessarily because your immune system is fighting off the virus, but because the virus never actually got into your system. (The nature of influenza is that it is best transmitted through droplets when someone coughs/sneezes in your vicinity.)

First of all, do you have an actual reference for that?
Can you read Dutch? Then I do. If you can't, I will have to look it up somewhere or you should get bablefish to do the trick.
Can't read dutch myself. But I can use the fish, if you can find it. (Hopefully Bablefish won't mangle it too badly.) (I did to a quick google search but wasn't able to find anything relevant.)
Oh, and remember, I also have that other point: not everyone who is a "health care worker" is necessarily an expert in epidemiology or virology.

We're also having problems with long lineups at flu clinics here.
Now, I believe everyone
should get vaccinated. However, I have no problem with someone who wants to avoid the long lineups (and overall clusterf*ck) that's happening at some of the flu clinics across Canada. I also have no problem with someone who wants to wait until higher-priority people get handled first. After all, the vaccine isn't going to waste, and its still providing the desired effect of providing at least some "herd immunity" (even if you aren't part of the herd.)
So, by all means, wait a week or 2 until you can either get it from your family doctor, or from a flu shot clinic where you don't have to wait in line for a day before you get the shot.

This is the site I use for my Dutch news (nu.nl), I get all my news from there.
They have a whole dossier on the "mexican flu" as they call it in The Netherlands.

The link here (after the numbers) says: Half of employees who work in care no shot.
