At this point, should we really care about Mulroney and his 300 grand? When is there not some kind of corruption?

I must admit I get a kick out of how Harper pushes the weak Liberal party around.

I'm waiting for all the "rightious indignaty" that somehow missed the bus since then.

Besides all the potential to delve into the LIBRANO's skeletons, a thorough examination of Alan Runt's personal responsibility for slandering Mulrooney should should be done. Why did the canadian taxpayer have to carry the can for that?

Winnipegger @ Sat Nov 03, 2007 12:25 pm

Oh come one. There already was a judicial inquiry into the sponsorship scandal. Jean Chrétien was called to testify. That was done, can't be done again.

Mulroney is entirely different. He claimed he never received any money from Schriber, but Schriber now reports he did. Mulroney sued over the accusation and the federal government gave $2.1 million of our tax dollars to him. I though it was $10 million, but CBC reported the government settled for $2.1 million. Now it turns out the accusation was correct all along. Mulroney has to give the money back, that's our tax dollars. And charge Mulroney with receiving a bribe.

Mulroney was part of Harper's transition team, so Harper doesn't want this. Too bad, we now see the Conservatives are the corrupt ones. We knew that, that's why they only got 2 MPs elected in 1993. For some reason voters forgot. They need a reminder.

$2.1 million is a pittance compared to what we're spending (read: wasting) elsewhere.

HAW HAW HAW!

What we really need is an inquiry into the inquiry. No shit!

Mr. Harper is a liar and hypocrite, it's that simple.

ridenrain @ Sat Nov 03, 2007 2:44 pm

Why didn't this scathing new detail come out when Mulroney was being investigated for this originally? Why didn't the grits do this when they were in power?

Sad, political oportunism.

Yes, and I am sure if it were Dion blocking an inquiry into Chretiens dealings you wouldn't be howling about a buddy-buddy coverup.

As it is Harper is playing the dubious politcs you aschew.

Yep! more and more i think an inquiry into the Gomry inquiry is in order.....smacks of a white-wash to me.

Lol. Once again, The poor libs are alyways being persecuted

Reguardless of the cardboard image you paint of me, Derby, I have little love for Mulroney, and even less for crooks. If he was guilty, he should be made to pay. He also should have been made to pay in a timely way. This is more of a scathing hit on the inability of the RCMP to investigate/persecute political crimes.

Lol. I' watching newswatch and their picking apart Mulroney's book. Wonder if the'll do the same with Chretien's book and his hotels?

Does Brian Mulroney owe Canadians an explanation? Plus, grumblings from the rank and file in the Conservative and Liberal camps

Chretien was jokingly called the benevolent dictator. Whre was the National then?
The CBC shows it's cards once again.
