Awww Derby's pissed off.
Didn't I hear the political panel on the CBC National last night agree this needs to be done. I wasn't watching just listening off and on. But yeah, I think that was the conclusion.

Here we go again..the selling off of Canada by another tory (wannabe king)
asshole.. well lets vote him out so he doesn't have the chance.. shit Mulroney almost bankrupted us.. put a lot of Canadians out of work
Yeah, thats the way it goes.. Sell off anything that the Canadian people profit from to foriegn interests.
Lol. here come the election-noobs
Wasn't it already for sale? Wasn't the Harper government the first in almost 20 years to stop MacDonald Dettwhiler from being bought out?
Wasn't it the previous Liberal party governments that sank millions of taxpayers dollars into that company, with no agreement to safeguard our money?
"our money.."
"taxpayers money..."
Wasn't it also the Liberal government that got $19,000 in 2000 and $13,000 in 2001, from MDT?
Bombardier gave them $142,000 in 2001 and $100,000 in 2000.
In fact, it was so bad that Democracy Watch said:
"The study reveals a clear pattern of large donations to the Liberals, and significant lobbying efforts, by most of the corporations that receive the most federal government contract dollars," said Democracy Watch board member Aaron Freeman.

Sorry Demo-Derby. You're libs did nothing but hand out grants and take kickbacks from these companies and when MDT went up on the block, all of you cried like little babies, demanding something be done. Something that the Liberals should have done years ago.
Conservatives will always, given the chance, sell Canada out.
The sale of MDT was stopped by the Harper government.
I can find no examples of a Liberal government doing the same.

Sorry ridenhack but once again your partisan Bs shines through not to mention your ongoing deceitfulness.
Harper pissed away billions in handouts and grants as you yourself said "was bad but ...." and that was loads more then the Libs or have you forgotten?
Lets not ignore the 2 billion dollar bribe given to QC allegedly to help Charest but really to serve to buy CPC votes, a move you screamed about when done by the Liberals.
As this thread article says, Harper to loosen rules on foreign ownership meaning that whatever the Libs did he will do only much worse.
So much for somebody who's campaign slogan was "Canada first" or did that just refer to his string of broken military promises?
When it comes to stopping undesirable foreign investment, the Liberals have hardly been saints in recent times, but they'd still be better than the CONS - especially if the Cons had a majority.

Making it easier to sell off Canada. One step closer to the conservative goal of becoming part of the US.
You can hardly call it bias when we did it and you never have.
Please give me an example of the Liberals stopping any buyouts of Canadian companies.

$1:
The Foreign Investment Review Agency was a federal agency formed by Parliament in 1973 as a result of concerns about foreign presence in the Canadian economy. The agency began screening foreign acquisitions of Canadian businesses in April 1974 and the establishment of new foreign businesses in October 1975. The agency advised the government (through the minister of industry, trade and commerce) on what action should be taken, if any. In making its recommendations, FIRA took the following factors into consideration: the effect of the investment on employment and economic activity in Canada; the effect on Canadian productivity, technological development and product variety; the degree of Canadian participation in management; the effect on competition; and the compatibility of the investment with national policies.
FIRA was criticized by those concerned about American economic influence because it approved most of the applications it received. The agency was also strongly opposed by many business people, and in December 1984 Sinclair STEVENS, industrial expansion minister, revised its mandate to promote and facilitate investment in Canada by Canadians and foreigners; to undertake research and analysis; to provide policy advice; and to ensure that significant investment by foreigners created a net benefit to Canadians. There was also a move within the agency to implement special restrictions in cultural industries, eg, book publishing and film production. The name of the agency was changed to Investment Canada in 1985.

They set rules and regulations to prevent that, the same rules and regulations that Harper is now loosening.
Citing one little example is nothing less then a smokescreen behind Harpers latest ploy.
I guess all those gaffs and scandals must be taking their toll.
