Think they're money grubbing because they're dirt poor?

I've visited a few countries, and have found the common denominator of the money grubbing masses begging me for handouts was their lack of cash.

It certainly wouldn't have been the first thing on my mind, however, how many times have lawsuits been thrown around here and in the US shortly after some tragedy?

   

In the heat of the moment people panic, this may have been one of those moments. Flight or fight, its the natural human response. He may have thought (wrongly) that by attempting to flee it would be ok. Maybe he didnt think, perhaps it was instinct. Who knows, when humans panic they are capable of making quick and dangerous decisions. He is human after all?





Well, we're going to give him $2-9k are we not? Say $9,000, for killing his kids. You know, $9,000. For 2 dead kids. It's how we roll. Instead of being bitter he should take the 9k and start a poppy farm. He talked about being poor, well, it is after all the a very high yielding crop.

   

It doesn't really matter if we're right or wrong in this matter. The fact is, we're in the mess, and being in the mess has made us one more enemy.
One more so fucking stupid he can't figure out you don't charge an armoured column with a taxi, perhaps stupid enough to believe he'd win 72 virgins if he did it again with a bomb stuffed up his ass....

this does not qualify as murder. The Soldiers were under attack. If they get close to the convoy- they get fired upon. They (the aghanis) know this. If they decide to break the rules and jeopardize our soldiers lives, then tough luck. If any one of us were in the soldiers position we all would have fired as well. And I like how when 2 children get killed the whole world is up in arms, but what about when 2 canadian soldiers get killed? Do you guys even bother learning their names?

It wasn't in self-defence. The soldiers weren't in any danger. They might have thought they were, but the fact that they behaved like trigger-happy American yahoo-hotheads simply because they were frightened won't bring those kids back to life or ease the parents' grief.

If Canadian soldiers have become so fearful of the local civilians that tragedies like this occur, we have already lost this war.

   

   

No, they did nto behave like "trigger happy american yahoo-hotheads". They did what they were trained to do. If someone comes in their perimeter, they are a threat.
