I am a Quebecer, born in Quebec to a British father and Quebecoise mother.. I am a Canadian.. I resent and hate the PQ for what they have done to the province.. they have created a miserable mess and held us back for decades.. I am fed up with them.. and will never vote for them.. ever!

Plus there are still plenty of Newfies who are still around who were born when NFLD was it's own country, pre the Canadian wolf and all that!

Newfies are a very distinct society and culture within this country.

Hey, here is something quite interesting !!! If Quebec were to separate from Canada, what happens to the name of the NHL team Montreal ''Canadiens''

Either way, about the matter of nationalim. There is a pride of one's province and then there is Quebec nationalism. Hardcore separatists not only are proud of their ''nation'', they are extremists. They would go to extreme lengths in order to achieve sovereignty.

Perhaps Charles de Gaulle should have stayed in fucking France in '67. Although, this event in itself only played a part of the separatist movement in QC, it was not the starting cause of it. Then there was the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, but none of today's separatists were even born. It seems as though they feel oppressed. That is not even close. Today's Quebecer has it good, that should in itself be good enough. But the funniest thing amongst separatists, is that some of them don't even have the slightest clue as to why they want to separate. They cannot even produce a rational explanation. Taken of the QC media propaganda, it's easy to see why some of them are misinformed. To them, only the Quebec culture and language should exist, nothing else matters.

Hard core separatists are a minority in Quebec and the issue is not in the fore front even though they give it the old school try.. Quebecers are tired of it and want to move forward..

Why do Quebecers keep voting Bloc then? Granted there isn't much in the way of 'choice' but doesn't that seem like a contradiction?

For a 'minority' in the province, they sure do seem to have a significant impact...

That is not what this is about, Newfies are not making a political statement to seperate from Canada. Neither are they embarassed to represent Canada.

Quebec Sepretists are all about Seperating from Canada, they want nothing to do with Canada. Quebec is still apart of Canada, and the Quebec players at the Olympics are Canadians, not Quebecers. They are there to REPRESENT Canada, not Quebec.

If Quebecers want to wave Quebec flags outside there house's instead of Canadian ones, by all means they can do that but when they are going to a world event and bitching about represnting there province of Quebece over there country that they are there to represent in the first place. Then we got problems.

There is a difference between the bloc and the PQ.. the bloc theoretically support the PQ.. but I believe they are softer on the independent issue.. I vote liberal.. have a bloc icon because I like Gilles and some issues that they bring to the house are good for the province of Quebec as well as Canada.. the trend will be to reduce the # of bloc in Ottawa I suspect,, soon enough

Qc can carry their own flag, as soon as they get the hell out of confederation. Until that time, Shut the fuck up.

Cut their federal sports funding........... then they can wave the Golden Arches flag because that's where they'll be working.

"Also, half of Quebecers would move to Alberta."

That would be the half that are Canadian.
