Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
If you don't participate, good. The holiday, as most of our odd holidays, is a silly campaign of profit and all that exploitative nonsense.

I was with you until that. You need to get over yourself man. People just want to have some fun. If people choose to buy a costume to wear, and choose to buy candy to give out who are you to criticize that?

This guy shouldn't have had these problems lol. If you don't participate, good. The holiday, as most of our odd holidays, is a silly campaign of profit and all that exploitative nonsense.

Yep, and if people like yourself ever got the reins of power, we'd see how fast freedoms were removed and oppression instituted to satisfy your ideology.

Mr_Canada Mr_Canada:
I'm fine with costumes and shit. If you want to dress up and have fun and dork around, whatever.

But the day, just like Christmas and all that, really loses it's cutesy message at the price tag.

I also don't care if people participate in it fully or not. Their choice. I'm just saying that it's really all about profit in the end and we are all putzes if we pretend otherwise.

Hell I participated, just like I participate in Christmas. Why? Because it can honestly be a ton of fun. I don't delude myself though, the people who made the crap I'm buying don't care about the holiday or it's lovely message.

But why do you care if companies make profit from a "holiday"? If people freely choose to partake then where's the problem?

He seemingly forgets, that because companies sell the stuff people want to buy, he can eat. Even candy.

*sigh*

New Brunswick in the early 70's.. musta been heaven or something.

Lots of kids, lots of candy, no lights = no business, no problems.

None of us needed reminding to say 'thank you'.

Sounds more and more like la-la-land these days.. guess I got lucky.

Yup that's logical. I should starve myself to show my opposition to capitalism.

No, not at all. But if you are on your high horse talking about principles, you might want to put your money (heh) where your mouth it, and act like it. Meaning, grow your own food and not accept candy nor drink capitalistically produced vodka, but produce your own.

Otherwise, get off your high horse.

Lmfao oh my god it's too early in the morning...

Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc. wouldn't be banned. How people go about participating in it might change though.

Really? What do you plan to impose to change that?

Because I'm an anti-capitalist.

Just hate the money element and how it corrupts things - that's all.

That's why you're unemployed and living at home? You don't want to participate in the capitalist economy?

You plan to pay your bills... How?

Sadly, it starts with his family continuing to feed and clothe the man child, but you're right, my taxes are next.
