Natives urge Stanley Park name change
Thanos @ Sat Jul 03, 2010 1:46 pm
Can't we name it something cool like 'Cthulhu Park" or 'Shub-Niggurath Meadows' or 'Nyarlathotep Gardens'? It'd be more fun and a lot easier to pronounce than any of the *native names are.
(*native - thanks to the incessant whining and other various instances of pure bullshittery you douchenozzles are all now permanently referred to in lower case.)
If you twist the well intentioned laws to your favor you can make a lot of money. How about claiming nice chunk of territory bordering on the American Border and claim no demand compensated from both countries call it CKA-Stan and dedicate this nation to throwing parties no ancient religious ceremonies involving a lot of barbecues, booze, sex and say this religion is the First Fundamentalist Sect of (well think of something). We could have a blast.
Ungrateful ingrates. Must be nice to live off government payments, not work for a living, inconvenience the lives of normal everyday Canadians, and become a general nuisance where the opinion is against and not for.

So we give them land and money as part of settlements, and now we have to name the land we don't give them after them as well. So they are getting their cake and eating it too.
Just bend over and take it up the ass and get us to it, I am done objecting to all this. Any immirant, native or quebecer that gives the government a hard time or just in generaly requests anything always gets what they want over official Canadians. Canadians who consider themselves Canadians first. They will get the name change, they will probally get more tax exemption in the future. Fuck, anything they want they will get. Just stock up on KY and get prepared because our government are pussies and apparently nothings going to change about it.

+1 for any KY reference. Yes, I'm that kind of backdoor humour guy.
I'm sure we all deeply love our country but one of the unfortunate truths about Canada is that the whiniest goofs with the most shallow reasons almost always win. And it totally sucks.

Screw the Indians they contribute almost nothing to Canada. Why should we change the name of the park for them?
That is not called for. Remember they protested peacefully while white dumb fucks in black created mayhem and destruction at the G20. Aboriginals contribute more than unemployed protesters.

Canadaka Canadaka:
the park is federal land leased by the city. So any name change would have to have federal approval from Ottawa. So hopefully if it did gain wings here Ottawa would have the sense to turn it down.
I thought the park is provincial so why would it be federal? In itself, nobody in Ottawa would give two rats asses about it (which begs the question why its federal?????)

You know the protesters were unemployed how?
How does an unemployed aboriginal contribute more than an unemployed 2nd nations? The only diff I can see is that the abos take more out of the system.
You calling the Caledonia protests peaceful? How about Oka or Gustafson lake? The black block doesn't carry guns - the abos do.

The peninsula was designated as a military reserve in the early 1860s in a survey conducted by the Royal Engineers. It was again considered a strategic point in case Americans might attempt an invasion and launch an attack on New Westminster (then the colonial capital) via Burrard Inlet. Although the area was logged by six different companies between the 1860s and 1880s, this military designation saved the land from development. In 1886, as its first order of business, Vancouver’s City Council voted to petition the Dominion government to lease the reserve for use as a park.

In 1886, Vancouver's first City Council made a momentous decision by petitioning the Federal Government to lease 1,000 acres of a largely logged peninsula for park and recreation purposes. On September 27, 1887 Stanley Park was officially opened establishing the fledgling city's first official "greenspace". Council decided to set up an autonomous and separately elected committee to govern all park and recreation matters in Vancouver. And so the Vancouver Board of Parks & Recreation was born, the only elected body of its kind in Canada.

My days off I would not be doing dumb stuff like that. Anarchy and stupid dumb stuff like that. What would you attribute it as? Paid vacation?

Sorry, what? Some idiot trying to make an argument with the concept of '2nd nation' crap? Get out of here please!!!!

That's your problem. Saskatchewan has more Aboriginals in the population then Ontario yet we don't have the Opp gumming things up between the two and we don't have mohawks blockading roads and telling the OPP what to do because the Opp are gutless yellow bellies. Case in point....your Caledonia.......

Slippery aren't you? You wouldn't do anarchy on your days off - some people do. You said abos contribute more than protesters. Lots of abos sitting around on welfare ++++ designed just for indians - they don't contribute either. You're now dividing the country up into provinces, and what happens in one province is of no concern to people in another? In that case, the TO protests aren't your problem either.
I don't think either black blocheads or native protesters contribute anything of value to this country, but native protests have cost us a lot more.

Aboriginals protest peacefully with no destruction. After that, mayhem and destruction with other people because its cool. Give me a break chump. You have no argument. When Indians start shooting guns in the air, killing people and crying "Remember Little Big Horn!!" then I'll take your words more seriously. Until then, let the adults talk.

Majority of the time they do, they should get credit for that. However not all the time, I recall a incident in Toronto where Aboriginals caused a lot of shit on border non-aboriginal settlements that live near a reserve. Equal to that of the G20, worse of all. RCMP did nothing to stop them, when those citizens rallied up with some Canadian flags to protest back. They were stopped and some were arrested well before they could even get anywhere near a aboriginal. Perhaps I should dig up that article for future reference. However that one incident, despite being major was the only one I have heard of. Oh, and despite that other incident. I forget what they did but caused some attention from the States I believe. I will try and find that one as well.

Did we forget Caledonia already? Tsk tsk.
