She made her move, the Senate security made theirs. It all worked like it's supposed to. Not really worth all the fuss, except like you Fifeboy she may have moved a few moderates to support her, and of course any publicity is better than none.

Why you half baked #%&%$*&, did you just call me a moderate?

Put up your dukes.
fifeboy fifeboy:
Really now. She had several months left from what I heard. One would think giving up a couple thousands of dollars means she took a bit of a hit to do this. A coward would not do anything.
Well, I believe that one news outlet (the CBC, if memory serves) said she had a couple weeks left but I am firm in my belief that what Ms. DePape did was not "brave" or "intelligent". Especially when I could do the exact thing while inebriated. The whole stunt smelled of a passive-aggressive attempt at resistance/rebellion by a vain and selfish child.
fifeboy fifeboy:
Fifteen minutes, well I think you yourself have spent more time than that reading and writing on it.

The whole "fifteen minutes" thing is figurative but will her stunt be remembered for all time? In a world where information moves at the speed of thought, I think Ms. DePape's antics will be forgotten in one or two months time because it didn't create enough of a ripple effect to disrupt the lives of ordinary Canadians. We will continue going about our business and all this will amount to is some funny anecdote by a history professor at (insert name here) university about 25-50 years from now.
That being said, I no longer have anything to discuss on this matter. Though sniping at Taseko's banal stock answers was entertaining.

LOL, 548 rep points versus someone who had to turn theirs off altogether. Don't even try to hump my leg, muttface.

OOOOOOOHH!! 548 points. Oh gee wow! Who's legs have you been humping to get 548 points?
What is the deal with the "rep point" anyway....credibility? Credibility with whom?

Why not? If the PM announced he was extending the Afghan mission by another year and sending over and additional 1000 troops we'd then have 19 pages of CKA leftists shreiking "Fascist-fascist-Hitler-Harper-fascist!" at the top of their lungs.
Double-edged sword my friend. It tends to cut both ways.

I'm trying to figure out if you are weird and brilliant or just stupid. For this I'll just go with stupid.
You really are the polite one eh?
Relative to this Charlie Sheen wanna be, I'm quite polite.
He's been around a bit and we all know him. Who are you again?

What exactly is the protest meant to stop Harper from doing? So far he pretty much just seems intent on keeping some or all of his campaign promises. You know, the promises that got him re-elected again, with a majority and more support accross a greater variety of Canada than anyone else has managed in a long time.
Harper has a majority government, but unfortunately the majority of Canadians didn't vote for him. This is the way it works and in my opinion it sucks.
I believe Harper will keep as many campaign promises as he can and therein lies the problem. Any way we can change this, even now, the better. Having a prick like Harper leading a majority government I find personally disgusting.
It takes a young person like Brigette DePape to stand up, piss off a lot of old right wing farts, and state her point. (Where was she before the election??)
Man, it's like Kenmore has a twin!

I'd understand 19 pages to this thread if the sign had read "Kill Harper".

Well according to Shep it said overthrow Harper, so a few more pages and we'll be there.
Any maple dipped left?
