Nice Roman Empire similie. Very original.

Thanks. :D

Although, I believe you did something like this already.

History as we know it so far has always followed a pattern. it's just a shame that we won't be around for the enlightenment.

But really dude. The population from Canada is the same AS THE POPULATION OF cALIFORNIA. Yet, we've got twenty times the landmass and natural resources.

Why...aren't...we...a rich country? I mean Rolls Royces, limos, servants and maids rich. I just don't understand our huge resevoir of natural resources versus our tiny population, most of which are so new to Canada they can't really stake a claim on our resources...

What gives? Why aren't we rich? The govenment should be pulling tax money out of the ground instead of out of my ass.

but they are....and compared to most of the world, we're filthy rich

The next great power? Yes. The next super power? No.

just some food for thought..after ww2 we were the 4th or 5th strongest military..we had the beginnings of a super fighter jet until diefenbaker canned that project

It is already a power, (not militarily) but it will never be a super power.

The way our economy and government is geared, we can't be a superpower.

Most Canadians are too passive to want to be a superpower.

Remember the Avro Arrow? As long as Big Brother down south is around and is in our sphere of influence, he will never allow us to even attempt to surpass him.

Also, we don't have the population or the moeny or the will to drill up north where all the riches are.

Why isn't Canada richer? We've got so many natural resources, why aren't we more like Saudi Arabia?

wait, wait...you want to be more like Saudi Arabia?

Yes, I want a high GDP off of natural resources and eat bon bons all day with maids and servants rubbing my feet, you got a problem with that?

Yea but Saudi Arabia is hotter than Vulcans dick.

Well, Big Brother is going to fall soon anyway...

So it's all a matter of time...

*waits for Yankee Economy to crash*

...

No, I agree, we as Canadians are not the "We will remove your government and replace it with a puppet if you disagree with us" type of nation.

We are the more of "You don't agree? Everyone has their opinion." type.

We can easily be a great power, but not a super power.

Plus, Canada is the #1 most loved Nation in the world.

Not like the current Superpower, which is 3rd last.... ;)

I don't want Canada to look like that.

I really don't think that 98% of Canadians want Canada to be even close to a superpower. Why would we want to be one. The states is hated by every country they try to influence. They brought on the upturn in terrorism by their own damn greed and gluttony.

It probably won't happen in our lifetime.

If we became a superpower via peacekeeping, maybe we could bypass all the hatred...

If the American economy crashes, ours goes with it. Right now 80% of our economy depends on the U.S. economy. So hoping for global economic depression just isn't the solution.

Why don't we have the resources to tap into our riches? Either we are rich or we are not rich! Do we have to wait until we get enough rich immigrants from the M.E. to do it for us?

Eh, I'm optimistic....

I give it 4 years.... ;)

Hmm..

If we were less imperialistic, yeah, I guess. But with so much power and responsibly for Canada, I don't think Canada would slide by the hate.

If Canada has so much control in the world, I bet people will get pissed off.

As long as we don't go Canadianising the World.

Plus, we should take over the United States to increase our approval rating in the international scene.... ;)

Actually, 85%.

*curses heavily*

It's the reason I'm Anti-American.

We need people to tap those riches.

Plus, I'd like to note that America is so rich thanks to it's racist history...

That's how they did it. Slaves. *shakes head*

Now, we can't do that. Duh. We need to find other ways.

And we don't have many of those. SO we can't tap those riches so fast.

We are rich, but the money is in a large safe and we have thousands of locks to pick.

NO WAY. It is NOT 85%. I don't believe it. Where are you getting these numbers?
