Never heard it being called a chesterfield, especially in the western part of Canada, that's what I'm driving at.

   

Cause I dont think a person can really understand what it might feel like to be a recipient of color based hate unless they are of a different color. I just wanted to know who in here was responding to this add in the paper cause they can relate to what that women was going through. Fuck getting the couch for free or replaced.... it is bigger then that or atleast it should be if that is what she is getting on about.

Like I said I personally find it funny. To think that someone actually had to make refference to Nigger to define the actual color. Give me a break. That damn couch is brown. If you want to be more specific, then call it dark brown.........

   

Perhaps. While I find the word "nigger" non-offensive, especially to the people who keep calling themselves that on their own, this is such a little detail, especially if the material comes from another country. She should take her complaints to them instead of making news on, what nowdays, is a trivial word which is spread everywhere.

   

I am willing to bet the manufacturer meant the Latin "niger" as someone previously pointed out. Am I the only one who ever bought something made in China (or even Japan) and tried to assemble from completely senseless instructions? And these are things they've paid attention to. Labels? Forget about it.

As for chesterfields, this is just what we’ve called them for so long I never thought about it. When I do think about it, many of my friends, family and even I use the word “couch” a lot these days but I can’t think of anyone who uses the word “sofa”.

   

I was actually trying to bring the black lady some encouragement to not take the Chinese that seriously or care what they have to say. Of course the usual PC crowd will crawl out from their holes and begin to pop their heads up and down like some demented prairie dogs which never can really be ignored and so action must be taken.

Why not look at some of the stuff you spout off? Or what others spout off? I am merely taking a page from the set example of other people's actions on here. Also no one has really disputed what I even said they just do not agree mostly of its presentation.

Also if you find it funny it stands but if you do not it should be taken down? How hypocritical.

Some people may even find this funny.

What exactly are the forum rules for this website or is there any? Or if you are the apple of the moderators or the admin's eye you can say whatever you want if not then you get silenced? Reminds me of a hockey game where the refs will call some penalties but ignore others especially if they favour one team. Is this how it works or is there actually a set standard of guidelines? I haven't really seen anything that would suggest there is.

How is what I said even racist? Are you saying the Chinese do not spit? You cannot dispute what I even said because it is true and even their own government admits it is a problem.
