So the story originated on april fools day, any fool could definitely see that the assassination of MP Goodale was promulgated to help defeat the liberals. The story was immediately dropped after the election, no follow through whatsoever, big surprise there - like duuhhh

I didn't think anybody trusted the RCMP anymore, so why would they make a difference in the election?

Because they made a difference in the election is only one reason for the distrust.

Sorry, but your logic is flawed. If they're trusted by the public, any announcement they make regarding the election would be taken at face-value and trusted. That is, people would believe they're announcing an investigation as opposed to cynically believing they're swaying an election. So, if the election were swayed, it's irrelevant, since they're trusted.

But, if they're not trusted PRIOR to announcing the investigation, then the investigation shouldn't have had any effect on the outcome of the election since they're not trusted. After all, who cares what a non-trusted organization has to say?

I'd say that people giving credence to the RCMP swaying an election gives them a level of trust otherwise denied by loudmouths.

the liberals are just bitter that they lost the last election , at some point it time they move on and expect the fact people got tired of them so they voted for someone else . plus the sponsorship scandal didn't help much either .

sure .. now the Libs can organize an Orange Revolution in Canada.

hmmm, couple of years too late i guess.

Maybe the UN can declare the election invalid, due to police interference..

i know.. lets have the US invade cause we need regime change from an

illegitmate government in Canada.

sounds more like just crying over spilt milk to me

claiming the RCMP have that kind of power is akin to claiming the NDP can cause an election. Nice in theory but very little in substance and reality.
