And you'd be one of the first to criticize the US for its imperialist attitudes and interfering in Mexican affairs.

I'd bet on it.

The sad truth is that there may be no "lesser of two evils" here. Russia and America are both superpowers, so is China. Out of the three, at least China only fucks over Chinese. USA and Russia have both clearly shown signs of complete and total dis-regard for foreign human life. Russia will not hesitate to murder, pillage, rape, and rampage anywhere it can in the caucus region. They've been doing it even before the Soviets ever came into the picture. America has been just as punitive, first within the Americas, (countless interventions in South America), and then abroad (last 20 years).

This shit won't end until both these countries have their armed forces liquidated and are stripped of their federal status and broken up into pieces.

What the heck do you know about Georgia anyways?

Everyone knows that it's the peach state. duh

C'mon now boy!

No reason for the hostility. Perhaps a little off topic. I love Canadians whether they be pink or green. You know, it's all cool brotha. :)

I even like Georgian Canadians, both from the peach state, and those grimy ones in far away land that only exists on TV.

If the US had peacekeepers in a breakaway republic in norther Mexico for the last 15 years and the Mexican army rolled into the region and started shooting at American soldiers, you can bet the US response would be swift and harsh.

And you'd be one of the first to criticize the US for its imperialist attitudes and interfering in Mexican affairs.

I'd bet on it.

Oooh, you're such a clever monkey!!!
How terrible of me to criticize American Imperialism!
Look out, America! I'm gonna criticize you!

Hypocrit. You defend Russia bombing the shit out of Georgia, but if it were the Yanks doing it they would be a bunch of evil bastards right?

What about Russian imperialism? Why don't you criticize the Russians?

You are a one trick pony. US = bad. That's ALL you got. You're shallower than the Westboro Baptist Church gene pool.

I'd rather be a "monkey" than be a simpleton.

Chagrin @ Sun Aug 10, 2008 7:02 am

I think this'll be interesting. Hopefully, the US will stay out of it. I, too, am sick of our government poking its nose where it doesn't belong.

Fox News Host Refuses To Talk About Russia-Georgia War

Oh God. A three minute clip means all of Fox News is not discussing it. Please. I first heard about this watching Fox and ran to get the first article I can find on the topic and posted on here.

I seriously don't get it. Because one of their smaller anchors doesn't discuss Georgia, makes Fox News evil? Please.

Are you fucking kidding? How about Sudan? Or Tibet?

Give your head a shake. Do you hear anything? No? Shit sticks, that's why. Crips almighty if you really were anywhere near the slightest bit objective you would have heard what was being said at least:
$1:
ERBE: The American public have told pollsters, this political season they want substance. Both these candidates have expressed support for allowing Georgia into NATO. … We could have been on the verge of nuclear war. Those are the kinds of the things that the American public wants to see discussed.

Does the lass have a point? Dam rights she does. I'm sure there is a very important issue with the Edwards story and perhaps that should be discussed but this is war we are talking about here. NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO BE HAVING HEN PARTIES.

OT but relevant to this discussion:
Why TV news in the US is utter rubbish
$1:
It's not just that world events are ignored in favour of celebrity gossip. News anchors skew the facts to provoke debate

Now back OT:

Russians Push Past Separatist Area to Assault Central Georgia

This is going to be a slaughter and if any fool thinks this is going to stay regional:

this is going to go out of control, hell, it already has. If Russia attacks Ukraine, this will get very messy. Be afraid. That said, short of declaring war on Russia (and starting World War 3) there is not much that can be done. Lets hope both sides grow tired of fighting.

Tman1 @ Mon Aug 11, 2008 12:02 am

Georgia invades Ossetia to reassert control, kills people. Russia retaliates because they don't like Georgias close ties to NATO (even though their most top rated popular Russian leader, Stalin was Georgian) and sends in troops and tanks, ousts Georgia from the capital, bombs Georgia itself...

My take? Georgia bit off more than it could chew (its like a war between Canada and the U.S.) but can still contribute a scratch to the face, offers cease fires (rejected) even though their air space is invaded and bombed. Georgia has an air force doesn't it? Why does it allow Russian planes to invade and bomb their towns outside of Ossetia?

You make it sound like Russia just invaded Georgia for shits and giggles, when actually they attacked after 12 Russian peacekeepers were killed, and a sovereign nation (South Ossetia) was invaded by Georgia. also South Ossetia is comprised mainly of Russian citizens, Russia is protecting its own. I think the United States has nothing to do with this, however the US needs to stay out of this. Russia has regained most of what it lost after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Yes Comrade. I'm obviously mistaken.
It would appear that a nation of 140 million is merely protecting it's own ( who reside within Georgia's borders) by sending in tanks against a nation of 4 million.
Georgia's army of 18,000 are a real threat to Russia's million plus armed forces.
And I'm sure Russia will gain way more of it's old Soviet empire back as long as weak western nations, reliant on it's oil, turn the other cheek as Russia merrily sends it's panzers into bordering nations.

Just goes to show that little has changed in the new CCCP. Same shit they were doing in the 20th century but now they got oil.

Well one thing that has changed drastically from the former CCCP is losing Ukraine,Belarus,Kazakhstan and the Baltic nations meant losing close to 75 million people. The old CCCP had a distinct military manpower advantage over the USA.

EyeBrock @ Mon Aug 11, 2008 12:14 am

The new CCCP has a distinct manpower advantage over Georgia though, without it's former slave states.
