Their laws are harsh, but look at what the man did.
Was it too harsh?
The headline is a little inflammatory. The beheading was the method of execution. The crucifixion after the fact was to make a point.
It’s harsh, but I’m not sure he didn’t deserve it.
I got to agree with CommanderSock, beheadings is not a punishment. A quick slice to the head and you are dead without any pain. Thats the end of your "punishment"
A small cell with no light a small bunk-bed sharing a room with another inmate trying to grabass you and rape you. In the room is one tiolet and its dirty as hell and there is nothing at all to do for the remainders of your time there. Now complete that for the rest of your life and that is punishment. Even 20 years of that is big punishment. Even 5 years of that is better punishment.
Ah those peace loving and gentle Saudi's. I think we used to do this stuff in the 16th century so who are we to judge?
Hopefully. They may even allow those 'of the book' to build places of worship in Saudi. But hey, that would be being tolerant of others, not a mainstream virtue of modern Islam.
I say, Right On!, Saudis!
Yea, go break a law there and enjoy.
There is something to be said for a judicial system that started with Roman law, went to the Norman realm and then the Magna Carta. Oh and then lets not forget the Renaissance and the Age of Reason and it's impact on common and criminal law.
Then we have the impact of democracy and our recent introduction of a Charter of Rights for all.
Pity that has never happened in Saudi Arabia.
Oh please, what makes N-A so superior?
And why would you want to offer anything?
Hell, N-A is so opposed to anything European, which is the West too... Whaddayathink, will they really LIKE it? Nahhhhh, I don't think so either.
As long as they keep their barbaric ways there, I am fine. Whatever floats their boats. Don't bring it here
(huh, ya think they say the same about our values?)
