What are these tactics? Asking Harper to splain himself on a current issue is wrong? Not like harping about the coalition or that Iggy is way more worldly than Harper.
You think this report just fell out of someones briefcase in the elevator?
Everyone and their dog knows what happened, some Liberal-friendly person in the AG's office released the report illegally to score points for their boy Iggy who's getting killed in the poll.
There is no issue to explain other than someone broke the law and those on the left side of the fence couldn't give a rats-ass as long as The Count scores points.
If Harper has a preliminary copy of this report that exonerates him, then the full report will be leaked to the press today just as the prelim was. If it doesn't make him all sunshine and lollypops, he'll abide by the AGs decision to not release the report till after the election. Simple politics.
And breaking the law is EXACTLY when needs to be explained. Harper has already shown he has ZERO respect for the Parliamentary process. Let's see if he will put his reputation further on the chopping block by trying to bury what may become outright bribery.

So you want them to break the law to prove the didn't break the law?
Releasing the report would do just that.

I don't want them to do anything. I gave my predictions of what might happen, knowing Canadian politics as I do. Reports get leaked all the time. Leakers don't often get caught doing it. But if the complete report exonerates Harper, I predict it will be leaked. If it doesn't, it won't be.
And leaking the report, to a party that may have spent $50m on 'bribes' and already has shown it's concern about for parliamentary procedure, is small potatoes.

The story itself says that the Reformacons are asking for it to be released because they think it's sufficiently vague they can weasel out of it. A matter of interpretation of what's illegal, and Sheila Fraser ain't no lawyer.

Who's them?
From the article:
$1:
"We are calling on the auditor general and the Speaker of the House to release the final version of the report," party spokesman Ryan Sparrow said in an email.
"We are prepared to help facilitate the release of the final version of the report in any way necessary."
(Yeah, this Ryan Sparrow)
Senior Tory spokesman suspended$1:
Senior Conservative Party spokesman Ryan Sparrow has been suspended from the campaign after suggesting the father of a slain soldier who criticized Stephen Harper today was a Liberal.
Mr. Sparrow sent an e-mail to CTV News today suggesting that Jim Davis, the soldier's father, is a supporter of Liberal Michael Ignatieff.
Mr. Sparrow sent his e-mail to CTV producer Jenna Fyfe in Ottawa shortly after 10 am EST Thursday. He had earlier called Ms. Fyfe to deliver the same message.

Tories misquoted me on summit costs, Fraser says
$1:
Auditor General Sheila Fraser has written a scathing letter rebuking the Conservatives for misquoting her in a parliamentary report on the costs of the G8/G20 summits in Toronto last summer, CBC News has learned.
The Conservatives' report, presented as a dissenting opinion to the Commons the morning Parliament was dissolved last month, quotes Fraser giving high marks to the Harper government for prudent spending on the summits.
The report quoted the auditor general as saying: “We found that the processes and controls around that were very good, and that the monies were spent as they were intended to be spent.”
But in her letter addressed to members of a Commons committee on Friday, which was received by the clerk and members on Monday, Fraser said the quote had nothing to do with the summits.
Instead, she said, the Conservatives recycled an old comment she made on security spending by a previous Liberal government after the 9/11 terrorist attacks a decade ago.
Awesome..

Busted.
$1:
New Democrat MP Pat Martin called the Conservatives’ attempt to put words in Fraser’s mouth “probably the sleaziest thing I have seen in politics."
“It just shows such a profound disrespect for the auditor general,” Martin said.
