That's true. I believe my interpretation of the bible is correct, which by default makes their interpretation incorrect. I also believe they have the right to their interpretation of the Bible, Torah, Koran, or any other religious doctrine and I wouldn't force my opinion on them.

They can pray before a meal in public if they want to, I believe Jesus was very clear about this in this verse and others.

It is against my beliefs to pray in public, you might think it is OK, so go ahead but telling me I have to act against my religion to get a discount is discriminatory.(Oh Yeah you don't even pray, nevermind)

And I don't think you know the first thing about the bible.

Moreover, if you are praying to receive a discount, obviously there is something showy about this in that the person offering the discount would need to witness you praying, and that I believe is the exact type of thing the bible speaks against. I believe prayer is meant to be a private conversation between you and God, not some gimmick to save a buck.

$1:
It's discouraging to see how many Christians seem to think that every verse in the Bible is a standalone verse wholly unto itself.
And it's refreshing to hear non-Christians tell Christians how to practice their faith.

The restaurant can gives the discounts it wants, no matter what they are... you don't like it, you don't go there.

Besides, there's a difference between, "we like you, here's a discount" and, "we don't like you, we're going to charge you more than the advertised price".

Flat out illegal in the US due to their civil rights legislation. Otherwise places could offer a white discount of 99.9% on the regular price. Have multi thousand dollar prices for Blacks and Hispanics to pay.

Now I'm not sure that it's right or wrong to let a retail business discriminate it's customers. But in the end I think treating everyone the same is a good idea.

Delwin Delwin:
It's not that simple. You can't have one set of prices for people who are religious and those who aren't anymore than you can have one set of prices for a Black man and another for a White man.

It's straight up discrimination and it's illegal.

I completely agree.

When you serve the public, you can't discriminate. This is no more acceptable than a restaurant offering discounts to blacks, whites, etc.

I get military discounts at Rona. Should they expect an angry letter from you because you are civilian?

What argument would I have ? There is no protection from discrimination based on my occupation or training. It's why hospitals can refuse to hire me as a doctor because, well I'm not a doctor. The same can't be said for religion.

Delwin, you need to buy new teacups, the one's you have are full of storms.

Keep your religion in your church.

Really? Because if you'd like me to keep my Christianity confined to Sunday mornings between 10am and 11am then that leaves me 167 hours in the week to kill everyone who pisses me off.

I don't.

I'm perfectly fine with restaurants discriminating and I wholly support it when they discriminate against:

1. Non-paying leftwing deadbeats.

2. People wearing suicide vests.

3. People with poor hygiene.

4. Smokers who insist on smoking on premise.

5. Armed robbers.

6. People who want to pay with personal checks.

7. People who don't know how to mute their cell phones.

And etc.

Wow...if that's the only thing holding you in check...

Most of those are apples in an argument about oranges since most of them are also illegal.

That being said, if the business owner wants to give me a discount because I serve in the military, or you because of your humpback, wandering eye, and club foot, then it's their prerogative. Be it out of respect or revulsion, they can do with their business within the limits of the law and any customer uncomfortable with this sailor getting a discount or you as Richard the third's ugly half brother getting a discount just has to deal!

You freely admit you're a heretic of the 10 a.m. service! We have no choice now but to subject you abominations in the eyes of the Lord to an Inquisition, smite you with poisonous ants, flail you alive and burn you and your kind at the stake.
