Kevin Williamson of the Calgary Sun notes the 25 best television shows. He includes Homicide-Life on the Street, Twin Peakes, Letterman, ER and Buffy. To view the complete list, click here
Comments anyone?
Seems a shame he didn't include any British shows such as On The Buses, The Two Ronnies, Pan's People, Coronation Street, Are You Being Served. . . . and so on.
What would you add?
I'm kinda partial to Trailer Park Boys, but it's still too new to make the list.
I'm surprised Friends didn't make it.
And of course, Mr. Dress-up.
I've never watched TPB.
Caught a show the other night on PBS called Commander. Then I saw Linda la Plante's name as the writer. Anything by her has got to be great. She wrote the Prime Suspect series.
Im sorry but if 25 and BUFFY! make the list...where the hell is the West Wing.
24 should be much higher up than that, and so should law and order, that show is so ancient but its still going strong
i can't believe he doen'st have scrubs up there, its the funniest show on tv now, if you get a chance check it out, i don't know why they keep mooving the show's day and time
Scrubs is a great show, and I agree thatÂ’s its the funniest show on TV right now.
In the west wings first season it won an unprecedented 9 Emmy awards, including best Drama series which it has won every year since. If that doesnÂ’t make it a good show what does.

I'm with Adam on one point: West Wing is one of the all-time greatest dramas in television history. Canadian bias in the list, perhaps?
Anyone watching Corner Gas?
I never thought I would enjoy a made-in-canada show as much as this. The humor and it's delivery are totally stupid yet so funny. Must be down to the cast, though Brent Butt is nearly too deadpan. Show has me beside myself.
100!! not that anyone's counting.
I've seen Corner Gas, it's all right. Seen a couple episodes of The West Wing and Scrubs and liked them (Scrubs was hilarious). I thought
Babylon 5 should have been on the list.
Anyone see the HBO series Carnival?
Babylon 5 is a great show, im glad it didnt go mainstream like startrek.
You might want to check out HBO's "Jeremiah" then. It's takes place in a future that's kind of Mad Max meets Lord of the Flies and is written by the same guy who created and wrote most of Babylon 5.
Babylon Five was great. Tight, great character development. More political than the West Wing. Really about the efects events have on people, not the other way around. That and the little fat guy waving at heads on pikes...something only a long-time viewer would notice.
Buffy deserves to be there too. The dialogue alone is fantastic. Listen to a couple of episodes without looking at the picture. Some of the best. And the episode where nobody could talk, so there was no actual dialogue? Think about what that took.
I've never heard a writer not like Buffy or Babylon Five. That says a lot about quality right there. Writers bitch about everthing.
If you like Made in Canada check out the new CBC stuff...This is Wonderland and Snakes and Ladders. Strong shows.
