"Batman: The Dark Knight Returns" (Parts 1 & 2)
This back story, I suspect, is crucial in understanding the upcoming "Batman vs Superman" movie.

might watch this thanks

I'm just sorry they didn't get Christian Bale to play Batman again. I'm just not so keen on Ben Affleck playing the role.

Anyone watch Marco Polo. I'm wondering if it is worth my time to watch it.

I watched the first episode, stratos, and it was pretty good, but I wasn't paying close enough attention and got lost by the end. I'm going to watch it again when not distracted by kids and whatever else was upsetting my focus when I first put it on.

Okay. I noticed they have done a one off on a side character. 100 eyes I think is his name. It's basically his back story on how he got his name. Not seen it but read the brief description of it.

Watched the MP series a while ago and recently the spin off. Its ok but not great.

The story's setting is Marco as a guest in the Mongol court of Kublai Khan, which is something that actually happened, but the tv series plot is purely 100% fiction. Some episodes feel like they could be called "the amazing Marco Polo" because the intrepid Marco solves some impossible problem for the Khan and gets to be a top leader and adviser. And of course he's the smartest, the fastest and all the girls want him and bla bla which is pretty lame.

But while the story is fiction, the setting and weapons etc are historically accurate and an interesting time and place. It's cool to watch Mongols and Chinese fight each other other stuff like that. . It's a " watch when you don't have something better to watch" kind of show

Had a feeling it would be along those lines. Thanks

Just watched The Truth Behind: The Devil's Bible. Interesting watch just 46 minutes long.

The wife and I watched it when it came out and have been waiting impatiently for the next season. It's one of the best and most interesting series we've see in years. It's not just a drama with interesting characters and action. It also give you a bit of a history lesson as they seem to want to try and keep it at least somewhat historically accurate.

You also might like the "Last Kingdom". Saxons vs the Danes in England. Another Netflix original that's along the same lines as Marco Polo.

I guess at some point Netflix discovered that history was actually an interesting and cheap topic to use for new shows because, when you create one based on it, you don't have to pay some screen writer or novelist to create characters and a story line. A few tweaks, a claim that you're using literary license to cover any inaccuracies and you're good to go.

So, if you have any interest in history, good acting and a story line that doesn't rely on explosions and special effects to keep peoples attention, you should enjoy both of those shows.

I'll probably give Marco Polo a try in the next couple of days. I'm watching the 1 season of Nikita. Stars Maggie Q, based of the movie La Fem Nikita. It's okay, I am enjoying the plot more then the acting so it's just okay.

A little Netflix hacking!

Here's a list of everything available, by country:

http://www.finder.com.au/internet-tv/a- ... ovie-lists

And here's how to find unadvertised sections and categories:

$1:
Here’s a trick that’s been around for a while but may have passed you by: secret category codes added by Netflix engineers that can help you narrow down your on-demand video choices. From classic war movies to Brazilian dramas, here’s how to dig deeper into the Netflix library.

Whenever you dive into a genre on the Netflix website you get a URL that looks something like www.netflix.com/browse/genre/6839—and if you play around with that end number you can discover some hidden gems. How about visually striking films for ages 5-7? Or period pieces? We’ve found two unofficial lists online, here and here.

"Master of None"

Netflix original, with Aziz Ansari.

It was funny. :) Good storylines, and Ansari likes to make fun of himself as well as others. Some good laughs. And it won a People's Choice award over the weekend, so it's not just me liking it.

Only depressing part was that one character is played by one of my favourite voice actors, and H. Jon Benjamin looks more like me than "Sterling Archer". ;)

"Daredevil" Season 2.

8O

Just wow! Harder hitting than the first season, it brings one of my favourite Marvel characters, Frank Castle. :D He plays a much better 'Punisher' than the other 3 attempts on the big screen. Both Matt Murdoch and Frank Castle are driven, determined characters. Both are also fallible. Several episodes are very similar to the comics, but there are interesting twists!

Winter On Fire: Ukraine's Fight for Freedom

Because, damn! 8O

A lot of inside and behind the scenes footage of a modern popular uprising, and the attempt to suppress it.

"Prescription Thugs"

Despite there being a 'War on Drugs', there seems to be a legal dealer who will also supply you and your kids with the means to do some serious harm to them selves. And the organizations who support them.
