Scheer says 'modern convention' means Trudeau must quit if he doesn't win the most seats

Well, I wonder if he'll follow 'modern convention'.

The Post Millennial provides a map of how they say it broke down by region:

Just trying to score political points... mind you, Trudeau quitting would be a good thing.

When you have a minority party running Canada has it worked in the past. That's what you know have after this vote, correct?

Yes, there have been Minority governments before. And what there is now. :)

Except that map was from the CBC.

Strange, no copyright notice. ;) But that's what you get from fake news sites.

If it was a repeat pic, oops, but as to it being from the CBC doesn't it say on the graphic "Mapbox," which as I understand it is a service that makes maps - for anybody.

It says on it's website "start mapping for free."

https://www.mapbox.com/

So who made the map? Who owns it? I dunno. Another one of those things only God and Doc knows, I guess. Mapbox would be my best guess.

But as to this, below yeah that's interesting.

In fact, I'm not going to dig through all the pages here to look but did anybody post this yet?

$1:
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer may not have won the election but he is boasting about his party's performance in the popular vote — having drawn more votes than the Liberals; some 34.4 per cent to their 33.1 per cent. (Official numbers are still being tabulated by Elections Canada.)

So I guess all you guys telling us Trump didn't win the election because he didn't win the majority vote will be rushing to tell us Scheer is actually the Prime Minister then.

Truth be told, either Scheer needs to learn what presence is, or he needs to go.

He may not be Prime Minister, but you can be sure it'll be on his resume.

I Scheer had so much as an inkling of a climate plan, he'd probably have won.
However with the tendency of today's conservatives to double down in stubborn spite, they'll find some other petty issue to focus on.

raydan @ Wed Oct 23, 2019 12:54 pm

If I'm the 19th Minister, can I say I'm a prime minister?

The map keeps reminding me of Judy Klassen. I was there after the AGM in Manitoba when she announced she was running federally. That was a very bad thing. The provincial party just barely had achieved party status. The first time since Sharon Carstairs 1988-1995. Dougald Lamont had one the 4th seat in a by-election July 2018, the provincial general election was September 10 of this year. When Judy quit as MLA in order to run federally, the provincial party lost status. All other Liberal MLAs were re-elected, but no new ones. Running federally was highly risky; Judy risked unemployment. And she lost; she came 3rd. She's indigenous, from the riding, from St. Theresa Point. The federal riding is very indigenous in the north-east part, but towns in the north-west are mining towns, very union. And Niki Ashton was a candidate for federal NDP leadership in 2017. In 2008 she defeated Liberal MP Tina Keeper, who was also indigenous and a TV star from the show "North of 60". Going against her was very risky. The party would have been better served if Judy stayed in her provincial MLA role.
