First toxic fallout from election results as Newfoundlanders in Alberta blast their own people back home for voting in Liberals in all Newfoundland ridings:

This is not going to fade or go away, Doc. FB and Twitter, used both by actual people and by foreign bots, are going to exacerbate this out of control. We're just like the US now, where the wounds never heal anymore because social media keeps tearing the scabs open and pulling out the stitches. :|

Trudeau wants Trans Mountain pipeline completed as ‘quickly as possible’

Then why did Jason Kenney say last night on TV that Trudeau actively campaigned against Alberta's interests? [huh] Was he lying?

Oh, that's right. His lips were moving.

I think that Trudeau has finally realized that it might be a good idea politically to cuddle-up with the prairies... now you guys have to decide if you're ready to cuddle back.

I'm not ruling out anything prematurely, especially if he is buying drinks.

Can someone explain to me why Alberta is freaking out? I understand the economy being in the shitter, but I mean at Trudeau specifically.

I wish that I could. I don't understand it either.

And the economy wasn't that bad, comparably. Unemployment for instance, wasn't that far off other Canadian numbers. Bankruptcies were higher, but the outlook wasn't bad.

I chalk it up to twitterbots.

I mean I know some of it. They're mad about the pipeline, but the Liberals approved that, twice. They're mad about the tanker ban, which I can see why. Are there no other areas that they could bring tankers to? I understand both sides on this, the threat to the rain forest there is pretty real if there is ever a spill, but if there aren't any other good ports that kinda makes a pipeline useless.

They're mad about equalization payments, but if my research is right, Harper was the one who determined the current formula. And they voted for him 5 times, and continue to vote conservative. So not really sure why they'd be mad at the Liberals for that one when the government they supported was the ones who put it in it's current state.

Edmonton to Vancouver is the shortest route to tide water. I can see a tanker ban on most of the west coast, for the same reason. It's very sensitive habitat.

But there have been suggestions on another route, from Washington State to the Yukon.

Right? He made those changes just before the election too, and no one said shit.

Now Jason Kenney has been bitching about the debt, and is going to start cutting infrastructure spending, but cancels the levy that was paying for the infrastructure spending. And blames Trudeau! WTF?

It's like backwards day around here.

Why, yes, the people of Newfoundland forgot the first rule of democratic elections.... vote the way Alberta wants you to... how dare those Newfs vote for someone Alberta disapproves of
