herbie herbie:
BC doesn't have Cap & Trade, it has a flat Carbon Tax.
And it will be such a disaster people will whine for a while and then deal with it.
Yeah, we're goddam ready for the NDP. We've had 30 years of this bullshit conservative economic policy that doesn't work and sure doesn't benefit the avarage person at all.

lets not forget over half of that 30 years has been the No Down Payments bed buddy, the Lieberals..

if we are so ready why hasn't Alberta released it's budget yet? hum? Maybe because they know it would hurt them federally...I think that says enough.

That's where you go wrong. The Liberals are a RIGHT WING party/

PluggyRug @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 1:38 pm

The Liberals will fly with any wing. Depends on which way the wind blows.

N_Fiddledog @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 1:51 pm

Remember that famous old right wing Liberal? What was his name? Something French.

Smoken cubans (as in cigars, not actual Cubans) with Fidel, nationalizing the oil industry, destroying the military. Ahhh....good ol days of the right wing Libs. Image

You must be talking about that OLD Prime Minister that had BALLS. Enough to do what he thought was the right thing for the country instead of kowtowing to Nixon, Ford & Reagan and every Big Business (just 90% of them) on the face of the Earth. That didn't take another 45 years to figure out the Cuban embargo didn't help, it made things worse.

Yeah. And if they hadn't privatized Petrocan they could've used it to build a refinery.
But NOOOO...

OnTheIce @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 3:26 pm

Herbie, I'm still waiting for an answer to my question.

How will the NDP help the average person?

Thanos @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 3:26 pm

Wage & price controls that nearly wrecked the economy, massive tax hikes from 1968 all the way through to 1984, virtual stagflation that was pretty much uncontrollable, neglected and abused the armed forces so much that their combat capability was permanently ended and made them fit only for peacekeeping photo-ops, endless crippling public sector union strikes, fomented such hatred in Quebec that the country was a hair's breadth away from breaking up, pissed off so many people in the West that even today a Liberal MP being elected anywhere west of the Manitoba/Ontario border is still an uncommon occurrence, brought in a constitution so flawed and so subject to judicial activism from the Supreme Court that all four of the Western premiers who signed onto it said that if they'd known in advance that the Court would become so reckless in their decision-making that they never would have agreed to it. Yeah man, those were some wild and crazy days.

I've got my Che tee-shirt, just in case.

BTW, the NDP candidate in my riding is actually named Che ...Che Marville.

Revolucion Viva! is seldom heard here on Oakville.

Thanos @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 3:49 pm

I think that the NDP should all dress according to their character, to openly show what they really believe in. Nothing but Mao jackets and bowl haircuts, just like Honey from Doonesbury. Toss in the occasional Che hippie look or Fidel's beard for the sake of diversity but other than that keep most of them fully collectivized.

Jabberwalker @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 3:50 pm

Uncle Duke is one of my heroes.

Do you remember the little Viet Cong guy who got traded to the Pathet Lao?

Phred?

Thanos @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 3:53 pm

Hopefully he's running again in 2016. Duke would be better than pretty much every other declared candidate. Well, him and Deez Nutz certainly are.

Haven't kept up Doonesbury the way I used to. Gary Trudeau isn't doing daily strips anymore, just Sunday ones, because he's heavily involved in some TV and movie work. My favourite character nowadays is Jimmy Crow.

Jabberwalker @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 4:01 pm

Duke is the ultimate GOP candidate. He is sort af a Donald Trump type who gives even less of a shit than Donald does.

It looks like the NDP are on pace to form the next government. Is it going to be a good or bad change?

http://www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives/po ... index.html

CBC like the rest of the Canadian Media are bias against Conservatives and Harper so their polls are irrelevant.

Thanos @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 4:17 pm

I guess we're lucky that the CBC isn't restricting it's polling to it's loyal internet commenters. If they did then Harper would be polling at about zero percent.

BRAH @ Tue Sep 08, 2015 5:32 pm

The CBC is intent on destroying this Country by helping Mulcair get elected, Peter Mansbrdige gets a hardon just thinking about it.
