Curtman quit? What? What did I miss when I was gaming?
Check the Coyne Consevative thread.
Gunnair makes it personal by trolln Curts family, Curt responds in kind. Curt gets the warning. Gunnair gets entertained, keeps on trolln about his family. Curt gets disgusted and pulls the pin.
The usual shit.
Wow, speaking of trolling, guess who rolled in to scoot across the threads.
I asked him a legit question concerning the morality of his normal pontification on pot - namely what his family thought of his support of crime by buying pot and he had a dramatic meltdown.
No surprise you roll in with your Pom poms though. It's what you do best.
I can't see the Conservatvies and the NDP joiing forces. It was Joyce Murray, I think, who floated the idea in the Liberal leadership race, and it didn't serve her too well. The Liberals best response to the NDP and the Green party is to move closer to the centre, appeal to young voters and work on Quebec.
The other thing the Liberals should do is bide their time and slowly build a solid policy platform--an economic platform that takes the environment into account, Canada as a citizen of the world, a plan for resource development that includes First Nations. Push the idea of leadership as a positive, consultative, anticipatory. It's a long time to an election. That gives them time to rebuild. There's no need to attack the Tories, as they, like any party in power for several years, are busy accumulating their own scandals.

Conservatives and NDP?

that I'd like to see!
Seriously though,, why on Earth would the Liberals want to tie themselves down with the NDP? Trudeau is showing plenty of indication that he can galvanize the Liberal base and the public is clearly weary of the CPC. The next election may be Trudeau's to lose and he doesn't need the NDP to help him lose it.

It would be political suicide for Trudeau to try and align with the NDP. Best just let the NDP fall back to their usual third or fourth place spot and concentrate on beating the Conservatives.

Harper and Mulchair - sortin' it out Klingon style!
This guy is shopping his forum around elsewhere, not the kind of forum I would join.
I like the comment about being happy with a Liberal or NDP less than 40% majority. A little part of me is hoping that the Liberals will win with 38/39% so we can do the same whining and moaning for the next 4 years, and point out their hypocrisy.

I believe the old adage goes: Cut off your nose to spite your face.

I wonder how many right leaning liberals would stop voting liberal if the liberals joined with the NDP?
I wonder how many left NDPers would start voting green if the NDP joined with the Liberals.
I wonder how many Orange Quebecers would go back to being block heads if the NDP and Liberals joined.

On the topic of how we elect a government I must agree, I find the idea of first past the post PM voting selection to be rather outdated. Many other options for selection are around which wouldn't have been viable due to communication lag and trasportation lag times when the rulers for how we elect people were set up.

You'd prefer no elections.
Uh.. no? I said other options for selection are around and would be viable given modern telecommunication and transport.
We could go by population, we could go by population in units of 100,000, the D'Hondt method, a weighted threshold selection.
