If the issue is straight up job retraining without cost to the participant thats fine. There are other social complications as well.

What about people with families including elderly members that they help take care off?

Sure alot of young bucks from out east go west looking for work. Thats not always an option though.

The sky is falling, the economy is tumbling and Dion is stuttering.. but looks like there's a 107,000 folks with new jobs.
The banks are solid and looking to expand into the US market like never before.
Prices are fluctuating but folks still need beef, coal, oil and potash and Canada's future is excellent.

I wouldnt exactly call 107,000 jobs at Tim Hortons in Alberta a boon.. what a whole bowl of crap...

Theres an online issue of the calgary sun available Kenny if you want to see for yourself,or hit the HRDC site.Lot's of good paying job's in Alberta.

The Sun newspaper... Calgary, Toronto, Ottawa what ever isn't worth the recycled paper its printed on.. anyone who knows anything wouldnt bother to read the tory rag.. the only thing it has going for it is the sunshine girl.. even then they are usually bimbos .. so no any intellectual wouldn't read the tripe.... and those working there were probably turned down by the small town local weeklys...
so unless it is in a prominent national paper dont bother to quote it.. like most shitty tabloids the sun isnt credible..

Don't know. I know they extended benefits to seasonal workers.

No Idea. Does Riden say dumb things like this?

Apollo Apollo:
Let's see the armaggedon twins (dion and layton)spin this one.

Canada's banks are the strongest in the WORLD!
Close to the lowest unemployment rate in 33 years.
Record job growth in September when the rest of the world is wilting.
Healthy surplus of 1.9 Billion in July.
Healthy housing starts in August of over 210,000.

Here are the undeniable FACTS.

Layton and Dion LIED about the state of our economy and Harper has been telling the truth all along.

Layton and Dion should be ASHAMED for creating panic across Canada for the sole purpose of scoring political points. UTTERLY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR!!!

Holy smokes...that is WAY out there!!

First of all...how many of those 'manufacturing jobs' pay over $12 per hour? The few that do are likely CALL BACKS to the auto industry...those jobs haven't been 'created' from Harper's (and yours too I guess) fantasy land...they were LOST first and have now been restored(?).

Harper has never 'told the truth' so how could he do so all along?

Your last statement about the 'other two' is absolutely mind-boggling...Harper has been conducting himself in a shameful manner for ages with the "sole purpose of scoring political points". Disgusting behaviour? Your man is the KING of that.

I show you facts and all you do is speculate. You are no different than your weak leader. Just make crap up as you go along and speculate that over 107,000 jobs created are all at Walmart.

Allow me to play the same game your playing.

The 20,000 manufacturing jobs created are likely all paying over $40 per hour and all those part time jobs are likley all paying over $25 per hour with exceptional benefits. (both our remarks are just as true)

If you look outside Ontario, the rest of the country is still doing very well. Especially in the West where mostly conservative voters live and work.

Liberals never let facts get in the way of a good spin job.
