BeaverFever BeaverFever:
Elaborate on the evils of Butts and exactly how he manages to control government

I don't know if he "controls" governments but, he's an overly influential part of everyone one of of them he's been involved with.

$1:
Butts was, according to the Toronto Star, "the man they call 'the brains behind the operation'" and the "policy architect of the Liberal government since 2003." Butts departed from McGuinty's government in 2008, but not before he and the Ontario Liberal team set the stage for the ill-fated Green Energy Act, in part, by signing onto dubious wind power projects and its cripplingly inefficient Renewable Energy Standard Offer Program (RESOP).

For those thinking Butts cannot be held responsible for the Ontario hydro plights of today and tomorrow, many past articles give — and Butts himself takes — credit for initially enacting and seeing through those energy policies. As the Toronto Star reported in 2012: "On his biography page at the WWF website, Butts cites how he was 'intimately' involved with the McGuinty government's environmental initiatives." Another Canadian Press article made it clear that Ontario's energy policy was Butts' design: "McGuinty's plan, which called for replacing coal with a combination of conservation, renewable energy, natural gas and nuclear power, came from his senior adviser, Gerald Butts."

So, if past history is any indicator, most if not all the Liberals Green policies are likely of his "designs" and Trudeau's "plan". The only difference is that this time he's going to stay in the shadows so he doesn't steal any thunder from his best friend and schoolmate Justin Trudeau.

So he’s an advisor. Every political leader has advisors. That doesn’t mean the politicians are “puppets”.

Your government in action..what a shitshow.

Motion:
Opposition Motion (ISIS fighters returning to Canada)

That the House:

(a) condemn the horrific acts committed by ISIS;

(b) acknowledge that individuals who joined ISIS fighters are complicit in these horrific acts and pose a danger to Canadians;

(c) call on the government to bring to justice and prosecute any ISIS fighter returning to Canada; and

(d) insist that the government make the security and protection of Canadians its priority, rather than the reintegration of ISIS fighters, or the unnecessary financial payout to a convicted terrorist, like Omar Khadr

Never said that.

What I did say was that he seems to have an extraordinarily large amount of influence on the policies of the gov'ts he "advises". So, you can take that anyway you want.

Xi must not be very good at his job considering we’re in a diplomatic row with China right now

Oh yeah, big row.
Fact: We know the Chinese govt is complicit in the flow of illegal fentanyl into Canada. They so much as admitted it.

Fact: Diplomats are NOT subject to Customs when they enter Canada. Chinese diplomats would make the perfect mules.

Fact: The Chinese are using the fentanyl crisis as leverage to gain political concessions in Canada.

Fact: There are only two ways the flow of fentanyl will be reduced. Bow to Chinese pressure and give them what they want, OR declare the govt of the PRC to be a criminal organization and round up their diplomats under conspiracy to import a controlled substance charges. Be better if we could get other countries with the same problem on board with that. The next step would be to deport all dual-national Chinese and have the province(s) they lived in expropriate their properties with no remuneration.

Of course all that would be preceded by quietly telling our diplomatic mission in China to GTFO ASAP and warning other Canadians to get out while the getting's still good. And of course all THAT would be predicated on Groper having some serious balls, which he does not.

I did notice you didn't argue that Groper is indeed the UN's bitch. Another group of assholes the world can do without. Here's an organization that has basically decided it's going to be the world govt and yet answers to literally no one. Yep, that's how dictatorships get started. What makes it an even bigger joke is there are representatives sitting on the UN from countries where free votes are still a far off dream, taking part in free votes that affect people in other countries. THAT is who Groper really grovels to for validation. A bunch of dictators and their UN representatives.

The course approach seemed awfully anecdotal and lacked an empirical approach.

Dude takes a Qualitative Research methods course and complains about the lack of quantitative methods!

Thanks for the feedback!
